OK guys ....first off....point blank ....you guys are an outstanding source of help and inspiration for newbies like myself... and to this I am ever grateful !!!! Now if any one could please point me in the direction of a possible solution it would be incredibly appreciated by myself and my wife (whom it is driving crazy ) We have a 2008 CFmoto Fashion 250 @ right around 1000 miles. As previously mentioned we had a fuel pump issue and upon replacement it has driven perfect ever since. Still does. Butttt... our issue is this....upon initial take off there is an audible squeeking, or chain dragging noise when the throttle is first applied. This doesnt happen every time but does so quite frequently. The noise is coming from back under the left side of the scoot in the area where the belt, clutch is. Any ideas on this?......I have no issues dissembling and working on this myself but am actually just looking for a starting point. THANKS AGAIN!!!!!...for all of your time and consideration !! Rome

Perhaps I should of added that....I did remove the housing and the belt looked fine. I know that a specific diagnosis is quite near impossible via an online platform such as a forum. I am just curious what direction to head or the most common causes of such an issue. After googling this situation the first thing that came up was a "glazing" of the the clutch wheel. Is this a common occurance...?... Is there a way to remove this or does it have to be replaced? Thanks for the response !!!.......

Make sure your center-stand rubber is good, mine was making that noise and here my rubber was about 1/2 gone rubbing under my CVT cover. Attachments:

Clutch shoe glazing is probably the problem. If not ridden for a while moisture seems to collect in the bell causing a rough take off the first time it is ridden. Brake dust and belt dust can cause this also. Sometimes it can be scrubbed clean by running the engine for 2 seconds against the brakes.

Ya, sounds like my scooter.. But just put 400 miles on scooter hitting speeds of 70 mph so I doubt the clutch and belt are the issue. Incline to think the rear brake. Could be dusty and need a good cleaning on clutch bell..

Could be clutch rattle or worn rollers in the Variator. Going with Sliders will sometimes resolve roller rattle.
