Pretty rare around the foot-hills here, but we had one today. Makes the ride just perfect. Especially when last weekends rides were 20/30 mph winds and not a lot of fun. Wait they were fun..........

I know the joy of no wind we have constant wind here and when its not blowing there is a peace that is hard to describe.
I need to quit reading this section no riding til I get everything together on Sunday. I think I'm getting twitchy...

Well, wind at your back is always good. Riding in still air can be eerie at times - almost surreal if it's at dawn or dusk and there is no one else around as on a deserted highway. Makes me watch for UFOs...

I agree the wind at your back top speed runs are always the best!

My most popular ride runs east to west. It's cool because if I've got a head wind on the way out I know I'll have a tail wind on the way back. Couple days ago I got that eerie feeling of going 35 mph but absolutely no wind pushing against me and that quite solitude feeling. And then there's those day when I get winds coming AND going??

Yeah. Days with no wind are nice. A little tail wind is nice. I've been late to work a few times because of a head wind, and the fact that I didn't leave as early as I should of. I usually check for rainy conditions, not wind. Especially if you just rolled out of bed.... hahaha.

The only wind that bothers me is a strong crosswind. Got unexpectedly smacked shoulder-first into the side of a semi truck by one. Also got pushed into the gravel at 70+ which was a bit squirrely. Around here they come out of nowhere, so if you're daydreaming, you won't be anymore.

Yeah those crosswinds suck. Especially a strong steady one that suddenly lets up.
