Also if the scoot is brand new and the gauge never worked, it may be that they did not plug the gas tank sensor to the powr plug on the harness. So find the sensor on the gas tank and follow the wires attached to it and see it is plugged in.

It is very common for a wire to get loose so check from the gauge to the float . If you ground the wire going to the float it should read full . If it goes up and down then then the gauge may be bad . Fill it up and keep a tight eye on the mileage with fuel tank inspections to see how many miles a tank can get you .
I know reserve on manual pecocks has been a best friend on my mopeds that did not have a gas gauge .
My Echarm says its empty when its halfway , only have been able to squeeze in 4 dollars of gas with it being a 2 gallon tank . Some odd reason it is very slow to for the needle to go ATW after a fill up where my Magnum it does it instantly with the turn of the key and its accurate . The first night I had just gotten it I ran it out of gas since I was having so much fun and just knew I could make it to a station . Luckily I was only 1/4 from a gas station . I have not ran out of gas in almost 20 years . I always fill up the tank no matter how much gas it has in it to know for sure I have more than just enough to get home

Does the gauge deflect at all when you turn the key on?
I recently had a stuck gauge and it turned out to be the spring washer/retainer was pushed on too hard at the end of the senders float arm where it goes through the senders body. This kept the float arm from moving freely. Just careless assembly. The sender is easily removed. Just be careful not to bend the arm when taking it out of the tank.
On another bike I'm resurrecting, it had a better quality sender that had brass bushings in the float arms axle, but the arm had seized from corrosion. Same problem, different cause!

Can any one tell me where to start looking? hotpipes Here's how I fixed mine only I was hitting the damned thing slightly harder and with a small hammer to make it real loose. On my scooter it was a 15-minute procedure and no tools were required expect for a small hammer.

They put it on too tight from the factory.

Had the same problem today I undid my little fuel bobber and bent the metal rod. Put it back in, and everything worked great, but then I saw this video... And thought "well I did just full it with gas, but maybe I bent it and its stuck now" so I undid it again and hit that little thing with a hammer and WALLA perfect! Still said full.... But great video! Thanks for the help, bro.

Where exactly is this located? What has to be removed to get to it? I think this is my problem because mine is reading E unless I tilt the scooter to the right side at about 25 degrees, then it works, so it sounds like a sticking arm.

It is right under your seat. Where you fill up your thank there should be 4 bolts and a wire leading to those. Undo those four bolt and lift it up.
