Hello! My sister is complaining about a minor vibration in the steering when she exceeds 40mph. Seems to be regardless of road surface. I'm going to have the front wheel rebalanced, but the interesting thing is that it doesn't occur with me when I ride the same speed down the same stretch. She and I are about the same weight, but the difference is that her hands and forearms are smaller. Also she doesn't grasp the handles as firmly as I do.
I researched this a bit and discovered that its not uncommon in two wheeled vehicles, and that adding weights to the ends inside the handlebar tubes can alleviate this. Ok, I'll try that, easy enough. Makes sense, add mass, dampen vibration.....
I spoke about this with a neighbor, an amateur motorcycle guy, and he also suggested that I look to see if oil had ever been put in the fork tubes. Apparently, Chinese built bikes often leave that to the dealer to perform at the time of sale prep. Anyway, I can't yet find any reference to whether Helix or helix clones will even accept oil in the forks, what type of oil and how much, etc.
So I thought I'd post here to see if any of you scooter gurus could shed any light on this little mystery. Besides, it's an interesting subject.
The bike is a 2008 Wildfire that appears mechanically identical to the Helix, CFMoto Fashion, etc.
