some items are year specific, others change from year to year. when asking servicing questions try to include a year and model. there is a lot of info on web about honda scooters like the helix and elite. you might look here: www.ch250.net/servicemanuals.htm

It's a 95' and I checked out that site and it doesn't show anything for my year. Do you have any suggestions for that year for the grease and how much?

Did you call your friendly neighborhood Honda shop. The one I used to work for had shop manuals for every Honda motorcycle

I did none of them have ever been a Honda scooter dealer is what they said. This guy I talked to said Yamaha Grizzles have the same style clutch and they have a grease for those but they don't know how much to put in. He also said you can run it with no grease, the grease is only there to make the clutch more quiet. If I can't find out how much to used I might just load it up with the amount I pulled out.

i advise against greasing the clutch yourself. it sounds like you have little to no experience with it. improper greasing of your clutch will result in clutch failure by allowing grease to get on the friction pads. too much grease will result in the same thing. your best bet would be to find out how the clutch is built by looking at exploded views of the clutch. the items that need grease are the bearings, friction pad pivot points, and the sleeve the pulley halves slide on. i've heard that alvania grease manufactured by shell is the grease to use.

ok leo you know so much but don't know a good grease to run... all I wanted to know was what kind of grease is the best for the PRIMARY clutch (doesn't have friction pads) and you can actually run it with little or no grease and it'll just be noisy...I specialize in snowmobiles (clutches) and all powersport units...

Is your clutch different than most scooter clutchs? Or is it like any other Scooter Clutch which has 3 arms with pads on each arm and get thrown out by centrigual force and grab the bell?
If so there is nothing special about the Clutch on the HONDA, all the scooters have the same type of Clutch. What you want is just get good SYN grease and DAB a little on the pins that slide in and out on the sheave and maybe a little on the bearing and that is all.
Now the Variator they usually come loaded with grease and the reason is to quiet the weights down. The weights fit very loose in the ramps and they make a rattling sound so to quiet them down they loaded the ramps with grease.

A good grade wheel bearing grease will work or a "better" grade grease like you get in a cartidge, (Tube). I assuming you're referring to the "driven" pulley. (not the one on the engine). And yes, they absolutely need an occasional regreasing, like every 5 or 8 thousand miles. There are You-Tube videos that demonstrate the proper way to disassemble grease and rebuild. That might be your best bet. Good luck Chris
