I thought the enricher was used for warm up ? Switching off enricher power prevents the needle extending and cutting off "enriched" fuel flow.

That method only stops it from extending by cutting off the voltage to it so it stays retracted feeding it extra fuel all the time. A better method is to put on a MANAUL ENRICHER(CHOKE), with a manual you can retract and feed it extra fuel when you need it or cut off the extra fuel when you want. Using the Voltage cutoff you have to wait for it to extend which takes minutes as well as retract by cutting off the voltage to the Enricher. With the manual it is Immediaate off or on or a little or a lot. If for some reason your running lean you can apply the manual choke to allow more fuel to flow until you find the problem.
