If they just tested for volts that is not good enough, they have to test it for LOAD. Just like I mentioned get yourself a $10.00 or less Volt Meter and hook it up to the battery and see how many volts it shows. It may show really good volts 12.5-12.7 but then hit the start button and see how much it drops. Many on here and other forums have taken their batteries to be tested and come to find the battery will NOT take a load.
But if your sure the battery is good then by all means get a new starter. I am just trying to help and possibley save you some money that is all.

I also have a Suzuki gs 750 engine that I have been thinking about putting on here too. I don't have much in the scooter so it could turn into a really fun and crazy project.

Well I hope the other motor you got is sameo sameo and has the same stator as the one on now. Otherwise it will not be plug and play, you either will have to re-wire to hook up to your current harness and may need a different R/R OR swap the stator from the old motor onto the new one.

Great, but is it the Right R/R, most of the dealers do not know their left from their right let alone the right parts for any scoot. Unless the motor is Brand New and NOT rebuilt(which by the way most motors that are sold online are--Just a F.Y.I) the stator could be different with different wireing. But good luck with the swap and let us know when wheels are turning.

The motor was pulled from a crashed scooter this morning. I grabbed all the parts off of it I could, i'm pretty sure its the correct r/r. It should be running tomorrow night.

New engine is in and running pretty dang good. I have to finish putting her back together then take her out for a spin. It looks a little goofy with a red back rim on a blue bike but hey it had a brand new tire on it and I wasnt up for swapping the rims over just yet.

Add a white front rim and you could run for President.

I like where your head is at JLee. I got to ride it around the block a few minutes ago and I got to say it wasnt bad. I got to get a new front tire for her and tweak a few things but she moves under her own power.
