I am looking for any information to help in finding accessories for the Honda helix. I myself ride a 2007 with 4100 miles on it and am very pleased with the ride. However since this model is no longer made I have found it hard to find things like backrests (both driver and Passanger), luggage racks, top cases, and Radio's. I have seen plenty of stuff on Ebay, by they all appear to be based on the Helix clone and have here of some fitment issues with these.
I am not looking to totally mod out my bike just improve the comfort and function of what I have. I am looking for oem parts if I can find them. New or used doesn't matter.
I am also looking for a Texas Sidecar. Used if possible. Any info on how the sidecar may affect performance would be nice too.

Luggage Rack- the $25 Ebay rack is what almost everybody uses Backrest- Utopia is good but high dollar. Every now and then somethin will come up on ebay. Check the Helix forum, most guys make there own. Top case-the JC whitney case is good and cheap. Once you have the Ebay rack you can put any case you want on it. Radio- if you have a lot of money you can by a Hondaline Kenwood radio that came on the Helix as an option. They come up on Ebay sometimes but they will run about $500. Most guys rig up a stero in the trunk with speakers in the dash and a remote to control it. Helmet speakers work for me.
Sidecar on a Helix is a fun idea until you have it on there. I almost bought one with a sidecar but top speed will be down to about 60mph. The helix doesn't have the guts for the added load.

Utopia, as mentioned, is a great back rest. Expensive but as good as it gets. You might consider looking at one on the internet and borrowing the method it is installed, then adapt an automoble headrest that you can get at any salvage yard, I have helped one guy do that and it works fine so he claims. The Hondaline Radio is good, my Helix has that system and I like it. However, with the high tech greatly reduced size of audio equipment available today I think you can go full blown super audio with bluetooth etc. for a maybe 20% of the cost of the Hondaline stuff... Oh yeah, be careful if you do want to go the Hondaline route, you also MUST have the installation hardware to make it go on the bike, and the eBay sellers RARELY tell you that and most don't have it... it gets trashed when the radio is yanked!!
