So my tkb 300 trike, new volatge regulator and battery. as soon as you turn ignition on the sparkplug lights up arcing at a constant, as well as a whistleing noise, all berfore engine turnes over. Any ideas?

pulled spark plug and let it arc against engine block

maybe bad diode?
