Here's the scoop. I have a JCL mp250a with a Linhai 247cc clone engine. Awhile back I was out on the highway and had a coolant hose blow out and didn't know it. The fan would not kick on. The engine overheated and I lost power at one point. I thought I had blown a head gasket or something. The engine started back up and I got it off the road. I haven't yet gotten the water issue fixed. I replaced the radiator hose, refilled it, and "burped" it multiple times. The fan refuses to kick on and I don't seem to get any water flowing. I jumped the wires coming out of the temperature sending unit and the fan kicks on. So that's one issue. The other issue. When I start it up there is a knocking that seems most prominent in the back left of the engine. It doesn't seem to affect the power at all. I did a valve adjustment but it doesn't seem to affect it. Has anyone encountered this before and can you give me any ideas?
