My girlfriend has a JCL MP 250 A . It has a Yamaha clone engine. The Linhia 257cc engine. At only 800 miles the scoot was stalling at every redlight. We all know now what this probably is. Zero valve clearance on either valve. But before I could get at the task at hand She goes to start it and the starter motor just spins. The motor won't turn over. But as said the starter just spins the starter clutch without engauging the engine and starting it. So has anybody had this happen or interested in some pics on how I fixed it ? I put a new starter clutch in it and adjusted the valves . Now it starts and runs great. A lot of work on a relitivly new scooter, But well worth it.

Should I post a totorial with pics on how to do a 250 Linhia starter clutch ? Or is this the only one anybody has heard of thats gone bad ? Jeff , another member here that runs Mudville Scooter and small engine repair says this happens once in a while on Yamaha and clone engines.
