Hi have been working with my sales rep Jesse since April of 2012. Not very long but I can say that he has been great. Although everything has not always been perfect (yes, things do sometimes happen) he has always been there and available to help. He returns emails and phone calls quickly. On a couple of occasions, even on his day off or when he was out sick. Delivery was always quick without damage. When I needed parts, they were also sent out right away. Another thing I have run into when ordering scooters. Sometimes reps tell you they have certain models in stock and they really don't! That is bad news when you have a customer waiting. Well, never had to worry about that with Jesse. He has always been upfront with me, which I really appreciate. Not sure if I can leave a phone number for Jesse but you can message me if you'd like the info. He is with the Dallas location. Just wanted to post my experiences dealing with Tao Tao. I've heard some not so great stories but my personal experience has been great. It's all in the rep! Attachments:

Which office? I deal with reps in both the LA and Cincinnati offices. Cheaper from Cincin but better selection from LA. Also get parts from Dallas sometimes.
So far Tao Tao has been pretty good. Except when they go on vacation and nobody else in the office speaks English. Try ordering a scooter then.

Refuse to do business with them until they change and they will change. Until then they are laughing about us all the way to the Chinese bank.

Well based on where you are you should be dealing with Ohio. Much closer and you'll get cheaper shipping. Overall I pay $50 less per scooter after shipping from their Indianapolis warehouse. Dallas to me is about the same as L.A. to me.

I have tried their ATV's in the past. I have found their quality to rate a "medium". Of course we have worked on their scooters, I'd put their quality in the Roketa, Shanghai-Shenke range, not great but okay, again a "medium". I have a real problem in that they seem to adopt the Chinese business model that says " Sell to anyone who has the cash". They, and Sunny... are a drop-shippers wet dream. Tough to compete with someone in their living room with a laptop, a website, and a Craigslist Account.

Here is my experience with Tao. Nothing against the Minnesota dealer---They have been cooperative but cant seem to get what I need from Tao. I recieved my Tao ATM150A on sept 7 th. I received it drop shipped in a steel cage and carton. Upon opening the carton and cage I found that the left rear shock was broken off of the top mount and gone. The storage trunk under the seat had a 5 inch gash in the right rear and a 1 inch hole bored in the bottom front.. It looked like the bottom had been used for a pounding board. The rear fender had a 4" cut on the left side. The decal sheet was mutilated and missing the main decal. The left brake handle was broken. There were no bolts, clips or fasteners included . I have been working with the dealer and so far have gotten the brake handle, the rear fender, the bolts and fasteners. They sent the wrong rear shock twice. No replacement for the under seat storage compartment or the decals. The pics are attached. I contacted Visa and the payment was reversed. I hope the dealer can reverse payment to Tao in Carrollton, Tx. Taotao should move back to China. How in the hell do these scooter companies stay in business? Attachments:

The dealer will end up eating any losses because they have to pay Tao Tao cash transaction. This is why we do not deal in that type of scooter and no longer sell product we do not have parts in stock for. When you are a drop shipper you are at the mercy of the distributor. If they cannot handle their end of the business the dealer looses. Distributors like Tao Tao don't really care about the dealer because they have plenty more "wanna bes" just waiting to take their place and sell on line. Another reason so many of them change names or just drop out of sight so often.
Only the ones that import themselves and thus have parts for the scoots stay in the game over the long haul. And that is not easy to do when you have to compete with the distributors that are only interested in selling "cheap scooters" with no support. The uninformed consumers get hooked by the low price and then wonder why their scooters break down and they can't get parts for it. It gives all China product a bad name.
I am getting calls from dealers every day looking for parts for the VIP scooter they are selling but cannot get parts for. Some of them actually get mad at me because I don't have parts for the scooter they got from another distributor (LOL) These are the same ones that decide to buy the VIPs because they were cheaper than the ZNENs.. Hmmm wonder why that is?

Apparently, I have not spoken to TaoTao's best sales rep, but my experience with taotao has been less than average. The people have no etiquette, pick up the phone and answer in a more 'rude' way; like a short 'YES' or 'NO' on most questions, without giving me a feeling they're actually trying to help me out; they said they where going to send me a youtube vid with instructions, which they did not; and their info was kind of useless to me. I already forgot what I called for, but whatever it was, I did not get my answer from them!
I personally thought, if their scooters are as bad as their service, then forget it. I can see how they have the cheapest scooters online, when they hire 'farmers' as telephone receptionists.
This is my personal experience with them. (ow, I remember! It was a question concerning the engine running very lean, they did not want to comment on; or do you honestly believe that this age old problem has skipped the technician's notice???).

I stopped payment for my junk scoot, paid for with visa, and sent pics and info on the missing parts and defects. I am awaiting a final decision from Visa. Why can't a dealer stop payment to Tao and make them eat the loss for shipping this junk? The dealer will end up eating any losses because they have to pay Tao Tao cash transaction. This is why we do not deal in that type of scooter and no longer sell product we do not have parts in stock for. When you are a drop shipper you are at the mercy of the distributor.
