Hey guys, I hope you can help out with this one. I have a 2005 CPI Tracker/ (Oliver city) The drive-train has been swapped with another CPI motor/trans. This one is stamped CPI 50c*550781* and if I remember correctly it has a 13mm pin? Seem to remember needing to find a small end bearing with a 13mm o.d. Don't remember if My kit was a 10mm or 12mm piston. but know I found one. The issue I am having is a charging problem. I can fire it up on a fresh charge battery ride for few hours then the battery drops below 10.5 volts. Even a new battery did same thing but took longer to go low. I am running Rear Led turn signals and stop/tail light. All lights incl. Headlight turns on with the key. So it runs on D/C? I think the E-choke is D/C have to check if has power with key on. Is a A/c system better? And can I do this on this motor? I had a look at the wires that run up beside seat, from the motor looks like I have 6 wires white/red > Runs to CDI Black/red > Runs to CDI 4 wire plug has White > turns into pink after plug Black > turns into black after plug White/red >turns into Yellow after plug Yellow/red >turns into Yellow/red after plug
and my CDI has white/red black/red Black/white > Kill wire? (Ground to kill) 2 wire plug with black orange
I have tried 2 regulator/rectifiers, with same results. Can't seem to find a wiring diagram with anything like mine on it. Can I test for A/C power at any of these wires? If so what am I looking for. Then would next check be @ the regulator going in then D/C coming out?

Oh and also I found a tan or pinkish (faded color) just terminated with some heat shrink. Near the cdi and the wires from the motor. Not sure where it goes to yet. or what it does.
Also did a drain test by disconnecting the neg. cable and using a light buld in between cable & neg on battery. No light until I turn on the key.

So I been looking at CPI wiring diagrams all night. Trying to find one that matches the bike side or engine side of the stator harness. Nothing that matches exact but found most to be the same Idea. White and yellow/red run to the rectifer, red runs from rectifire to battery. Black from rectifire and motor are to ground. What confuses me is the extra white/red wire??? Going to check if the 2 are spliced off somewhere. But also found in the diagrams that my white/red and black/red go to the CDI. So How do I check the output to the regulator/rectifire? The white or the yellow/red? Do I just use a meter set to A/C and check each wire to ground while its running? And I assume this is done with the battery connected.

HA never say quit!!! Just found a diagram that matches my bike's colors. So looks like my Pink (bike side) wire replaces what is normally the white? The white/red (motor side in the 4 wire plug) replaces what is normally the yellow (which it is after the plug) confused yet?? Regardless both run to the regulator But now my regulator is a 5 wire one like the diagram. I see the red wire runs to battery so I guessing it charges battery, but what does the brown wire do @the regulator? is it a input or output? Since is on the same wire as running lights and flashers. Danm. I just cut back the wire covering near the motor and found out the 6 wire coming out are Black/red White/red Black Yellow/red white and the extra white/red is actually white/green @ the grommet going into the motor. Just when you think you had the right diagram.... I will have some time later this afternoon to open the Alt. side to see where each wire actually goes.
I Thought I had it when I found the black wire @ the regulator wasn't showing ground with key ON. So I snipped it and checked D/c power from the red and black on the regulator. With it cut it shows 15-17v d/c out of regulator. when I try to start the bike with that black one cut it sound like maybe timing is off? hard to start then clunk & off. With wire connected to ground it starts but then puts low volts out? Now I am confused HAHA!
Basically I need to know what each wire does out of motor then the regulator. But if I knew what the motor was actually out of I would look for a wiring diagram for that bike, & compare to the one above. Can anyone help with either?

Ok no more guessing here... Pulled the sator to see what I could see. So in this pic you see the white/red and the white/green on the outer coil (pickup?) The black wire is attatched just to the left and the black/red just to the right of the Large (odd coil) and the white almost directly across from it, the yellow/red is connected just to the right of the white one. What is what? Attachments:
