I notice my scooter is beginning to squeek.. I owned my scooter new in 2008.. It is the shocks that squeek.. Tried putting a little WD40 on them, but they still squeek. It is nothing major, but it is hard to hear if something else goes wrong.. What do you all do for squeeky shocks? Attachments:

Just leave them on. If it's really bothering you, exchange them for new ones.
They're probably just wearing out.

Spray silicone on the sliding parts. Agree..or light coat of lithium grease. WD-40 is not actually a lube..though it does have slight properties...it was a long research product developed in 1953 by the Rocket Chemical Company in San Diego California. WD-40 is abbreviated from the phrase "Water Displacement"....40th formula....as the first 39 were not what they were seeking. Originally it was designed to repel water and prevent corrosion until one day an employee sprayed it on door hinges and it took the squeak away. The squeak from shocks usually comes from both ends where they go into the housing that holds them and the pivot bolts.....that is where you need to spray your lube..
