well ppl im having a really hard time right now with my stage 4 kit that i bought from scrappy dog scooter!! whinch came with a 100cc big bore kit, perf exaust, iridium spark plug, big valve racing head,125cc intake boot,24mm run tong carb for $400 and its like i just threw my $ away because the only thing it did was give a a little more torque uphill.. also i had to take the 24mm carb off so it would even run because the carb was drowning my engine with gas.. i put all of this on my ped myself, so maybe i did something wrong?? all i know is that with all that it should fly!! please help me figure out why it not running like it should be, bc im out of $ and am very frustrated..

Welcome to the forum Your top speed is only going to increase if you change your gearing. A BBK is only going to give you more torque and allow the engine to get to speed faster and maintain it easier. you wont see much of an improvement in topend. You should only do one upgrade at a time as well once that mod is dialed in then move on to the next. trying to do it all at once is a sure fire recipe for disaster.

Plus if carb is bigger..you will need to change your main jet..as bigger carb=more air....causing you loss of speed and acceleration. No offense but kits like that are designed for folks with lots of experience or knowledge working on small engines. They are not just 'Plug and Play' like Microsoft products..

You need to go up with the jet size to compensate for all the extra air you are getting...or your fuel to air ration will be WAY lean..and ruin the engine. What jet size is in the 24mm 150 size carb anyway? Even with the 100cc kits most stay with the stock carb and use a #90 or bigger jet. Your kit is NOT a true 100cc....none of the 100cc kits are... they are only 83cc..so the 150 size carb is overkill until you get the rest of the engine tuned properly.. Small engines can be finicky and take time. They are not like an old Chevy 350..where you put a big cam and Holley 750 double pumper carb in...and have balls to the wall instant power and speed..

Scrappy dogs is a cool place my friend. I'd send that carb back to um and trade it for aftermarket carb (smaller) with air fuel screw and tell um to send you a 88 & 90 jet to play with. After all buddy it is only a 49cc. I added the kit to a 2011 tao tao 49cc and found the 88 jet to work great with lighter roller weights. Any way have fun with yourr Build Guy...
