Hello everyone. Looking for a little help. Just purchased my first scooter, a 2009 Kymco Grand Vista. It needs a little work/TLC. Can anyone direct me to the best place to find parts? Need a side mirror as well as the front cover for scooter. The BIG question is this. I purchased this at an auction. Has no key. Got a great deal..hopefully! Only thing I can find to get a key made is a locksmith and they want 175 to do so!! Any ideas or information on getting a key or new ignition? Thanks!!!

Tony welcome to the forum. You can get most of the stuff your looking for at one of the venders on this site and the one already provide. Hopefully you id get a deal. If you don't know alot about scooters my friend I think you may regret your purchase. There may be a lot of hidden gremlins in you new scooter that you can not see until you start to look into your scoot.
But all aside good luck and let us know how it turns out

You did just fine, you have a Kymco and they're bulletproof.
Check out Stadium Yamaha for parts, they stock almost everything and should have a new ignition for you.

Great news, got a new/used ignition, installed it, cleaned up the 250, and it fired right up!! Seems to be running smooth. My only issue is the top speed. I am only able to get scooter up to about 55, and that was with the wind. Based on my research, this scooter should do about 70mph or so. Scooter seems to accelerate good up to about 30. Then not much get up and go after that. Any recommendations on what the issue may be?

Any help with the top speed issue I am having? Scooter seems to be running smooth. But can only get top speed to 45-50, 55 with the wind. I thought these Kymco 250 were supposed to hit around 70mph?? Thanks

Your CVT weights might be stuck not allowing the belt to ride up to the top.

Welcome to the forum... Congrats on the Kymco... My scoot is a 250cc scooter( Chinese) but it does 70 + mph.. I think it might need the valves adjusted also.. I would stick to things that don't cost money before looking at CVT wieghts, ect.. It might be something more simple.. lol.. The Grand Vista is a 200cc... 205cc..

If you purchased at auction and with no key, it probably hasn't been used in a while. You prob need a simple carb cleaning as you may have gunk in carbon. Run some sea foam with the gas and see what happens. If that does not help after a couple of tanks, have carbon cleaned. All is cheap and can be done by a novice. Good luck.

I am sure it hadn't been used in a while. I did spray some carb cleaner in carb. Not sure it has helped much. What do you mean by having CARBON cleaned? Any chance the CVT weights would be stuck? There is 3K on bike. But if it sat a while, would those possibly get stuck?

Hi everyone, I've been riding all my life but fairly new to scooter world, 2 and half years now. So much fun and different, my M/C riders friends just don't get it. I just bought a used 2009 Kymco GrandVista 250 with 2K miles on it and I enjoy it more than the Kymco Super8 150 I had before. Anyway I need better acceleration ( not top speed), saw some Ads by Malossi Performance Variator...my question is : how does it help ? Is it hard to install ? Thanks

Start with Dr. Pulley slider weights call Mike at www.buggypartsnw.com and he can help you pick the right weight. The Dr, Pulley weights make a huge difference in acceleration
