How well does the CF Moto compare to the Honda Helix ? Is it a better quality Chinese scooter ? I am interested in a 2009 model here in Phoenix. Doug

I have no experience with either. Since the Helix hasn't been produce in years, you may be better off with a newer Fashion. The Fashion was produced last year but I don't know about 2013. My local dealer only carries the Jetmax.

From what I heard, (I don't own them), the helix is both faster, and more reliable than the chinese. Like 20MPH faster (top speed).
Nevertheless if you take care of your bike, they'll last a long time regardless!
I know certain honda's that drove 15 years and +15k miles without doing anything else but put gasoline in.

I have a Helix and worked on a Fashion and they are both practically the same scooter. The drop in MPH is not true as both have the same size engine and both does around 70mph. The actual difference is around 5-8mph less for fashion. The engine in the fashion is not made with the same material as the Honda because the Helix engine is built with steel and the Fashion is made of blended metal. The Honda engine will last longer. The fashion does not have a electronic fuel pump like the Helix and uses a vacuum fuel pump. These differences are just how Chinese scooters are made vs. Japan scooters. Mostly everything else is the same as many parts are interchangeable. If you can find one for a good price you might be ok. I would not pay the same for a used Honda Helix.

I think one thing that has helped the Fashion be more reliable than the "run of the mill" Chinese scooter, especially earlier genaric scooters, is the Fashion is a copy, lessening the chance of design flaws. It's also reassuring to know that O.E.M. Honda parts are available, either as a "last resort", or as an upgrade. I seem to remember a spat of final drive gear problems with the Fashion and the "fix" was Honda gears, or at least Honda bearings. One thing I don't understand is the prices for used Fashions, I see them here and locally, for $2K and up. Yet, Valley Scooters has them listed new for $1799 "DELIVERED IN LOCAL AREA ONLY" ! I'm not sure if that means they will not ship. It seems to me, that for someone interested in a Fashion, that is a GREAT price!
