Hello Scootdawgs,
It's been awhile since I've been on this board, which is probably a good thing. You all were great in helping me out before and I am having another issue. So here it goes.
I have a 150cc BMS Kerrigan Scooter, just surpassed 3000 miles on it and have had no problems for the last 2.5k After work today I went to fill up at a station that I have used numerous times before. My scoot ran fine from the office to the station which was about .5 miles away, but not so much afterward.
My commute is about 8 miles with several stop lights and mostly down hill. When I pulled up to the first stop light after filling up and my scooter went to idle, the engine cut out. I was able to start it back up first time and gave it some throttle and was off on my way. A couple miles down the road I ran in to another stop light. Same thing. Scooter went to idle, couldn't hold idle and died. Was able to start it up immediately again and gave it a little throttle to hold the rpms above 2.5k and was fine, Made it home but as soon as I stopped, the scooter died again.
Later tonight I tried messing with the idle screw, that didn't help. When I start it up it still turns over, but when it cools down to idle after 10 seconds it then dies.
Did I get bad gas? Do I need to check the valve's? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. It is my primary mode of transportation so hopefully this is a quick fix. Let me know if you need more detail.
Thanks again.

Sounds like you might have a clogged pilot jet. I just had the same issue on an XR100.

Clean out the pilot jet, sounds like it may be clogged, also you might want to get a new fuel filter too.
You may as well clean out the whole carburetor, it's easy enough to do, just remember that carb cleaner eats rubber and plastic for breakfast, so keep your enricher, CV diaphragm, float, and float needle away from the stuff when your cleaning out the carb. Also remove the ABV valve too when you clean it since it has a rubber diaphragm in it.

There is a post that just answered this question, you need to readjust your valves, just check them before anything else, it won't hurt anything. I bet more than likely it's the valves. Good luck
