My girlfriend's 2007 JCL 250s starter won't start her scoot. The starter spins but won't engauge the engine and start it. Jeff at Mudville Scooter & small engine came to the conclusion that it might be the starter clutch. It is in the sidecover of your Linhai 257cc where you fill the oil behind the stator and flywheel inside. I will pull the starter out first and inspect the little gear end to make sure it isn't faulty by chance or some Chinaman didn't put a wrong or defective starter with to short a shaft to engauge fully anymore. I have learned the hard way to make absolutly sure it isn't something that is a lot less involved before I tear everything apart that doesn't need to be. I will keep you posted to those that my be interested in this seek and solve project
