Howdy folks. I've found some of the information on the Linhai to be useful, and I'm wondering if anyone's had any issues with their front forks? I've got a left fork that looks like it's leaking some oil. I'd like to get it resealed etc, but my mechanic says he has no idea how much oil it would take, and a comprehensive search for a decent service manual has been...frustratingly nonexistent. I did successfully change my rear tire and my oil, which seems to be the only stuff I've had to do in over 5k miles, so I'm mostly happy with it. Going to replace the stock spark plug with Iridium and do some other minor mods, but I'd like to get it inspected next year and a fork leak is a definite no-no. Thanks in advance for any help from anyone who has done this before. Uh, successfully

Jbabylon - I have a Linhai 260 Classic and I have exactly the same issue right now. The scooter is now wanting to pull to the left side. I actually have a manual for my scooter but it does not talk about the front fork at all. I am going to put a call into Sunright and talk to Jim to see if he can provide me some insight on repairing the front forks. I will find out about your 300 as well and report back.

Rock on. I have a PDF for something that talks about how to take apart the fork and reassemble, but doesn't mention how much fluid to put in, which apparently is the most important part. I'm assuming a whole new fork assembly has to be purchased for the seals and whatever damage has been done already, but there's no way to know how much to put back in. Would love a report if you get in touch with the guy at Sunright.

Jbabylon - I sent an email out this past Tuesday to Jim at Sunright. Unfortunately, I have not heard back from him. I will try to reach out to him once more on Monday and see if I have better luck. Stay tuned! :-)

Hopefully you'll hear something. I JUST got my iridium spark plug, my DC converter and my Cruise control, and I'm terrifically excited to throw them in or on and get some nice fall riding under my belt. I should adjust my shocks in the rear and really would like to get my forks all nice because those potholes are doing a number on my back and neck Do you have a preferred gap for the spark plug? I was going with .29 but would love to know what others are doing.

jbabylon - Sorry for the delay. I still have not heard back. Jim is usually very prompt about replying back to my email. I will keep trying since my ride is getting worse.
Meanwhile, can you PM me and provide me your email? I have two manuals for the 260 and the 300 that I will send you. I found an exploded view of the entire fork and steering system. You can see all the pieces which makes up the fork assembly.
Also, your spark plug gap should be 0.6mm to 0.7mm. The manual that I want to send you contains these information.
Keep checking back and hopefully we can find the information that we need.

jbabylon - Here is an update. The forks are serviceable according to Jim at Sunright. Unfortunately, Jim wants me to bring the scooter in because there are two variation in length of the seal and dust cover. He needs to measure to see which one I have. As for the oil, he told me that he put a call into the manufacturer to see how much and what kind the forks require. The 300 has the same issue so I'm not sure how to figure out what size you will need.
Currently, my scooter died on me Friday so I am trying to fix it so I will not be able to ride it over to Sunright any time soon. As soon as I find out what kind of oil and how much, I will let you know.
Also, if you would like a copy of both the service manual and the parts manual for the 300, please PM me with your email.
