So I rigged up a performance air filter on a stock intake. What I have is a UNI two filter intake and my stock mc 54 250B Intake pipe. I had to literally rip the intake pipe off the plastic cover that surrounds the regular sandwich air filter. They seemed to have glued the intake pipe into the plastic turtle like cover at the factory. All I did was get a screw driver and rip off the glue and pull the stock intake pipe through the plastic intake turtle cover thing. I am using a 51mm air filter. I had to shave off the plastic lip on the stock intake to fit the new air filter. All I did was get wire cutters and eat the lip of the stock intake pipe. I then connected stock air intake pipe to carborator (did nothing with that) and my new air filter to the other side of the modified intake pipe. There you go folks! ;D A little air pollution line was connected to the stock air filter but i just tucked it up over a few other electrical lines. I did this today and have not driven the scooter yet because its raining but will do it tomorrow and update you. Otherwise I did start it sounds alot better. Just rode it to about 60 mph everything stayed on and checked the filter looks perfect no dirt. Sounds louder and the gas gauge went nowhere so must be saving gas. (I posted this on Scooter doc but posting it here also)

any change in air induction can make you run a bit lean even if its not noticable in performance but its better to play it safe and not burn anything out. If its chocolate or coffee colored then your safe but if its white or greyish then you'll need to richen your carb up a tad to match the new air induction change.

you can buy a tap to re-thread the plug hole if it's not to badly damaged. I think there's even a kit for repairing plug holes that can't be just re-threaded. Check your auto stores or EBay. Be sure it you do re-thread the hole that the piston is not in the full up position and be sure to blow out any shavings from the re-threading.

Be prepared to get a lot of water in your airfilter on a rainy day?
I also want to know what air filter mods there are for the VOG-260/BMS TBX260EFI models... One thing they should have done, is make incavings in the body, that 'scoop' air and blow on the air intake filter. The higher the air pressure of the air filter, the more power the motor can output (kind of works like a miniature turbo).

It may be repairable with a Helicoil.

It does not stall anymore at lower speeds but I never got my intake valve and exhaust vale modified from stock soo.. Anyways heres a picture of the face to match the scooter
