A Few Issues While I'm Out of Commission...

Since I'm about to start a tear-down to replace the tires on my YY250T, I figured I'd address some other small modifications/upgrades that I've been considering:

1. Bulb replacement with LEDs - I plan to use white LEDs unless the lens is clear.
- Any opinions or thoughts on these bulbs?

- By my count I need 2 White 1157's, 2 white 1156's, 2 amber 1156's, and 6 white T10's (3 instrument, 1 tag, and 2 front runners). Have I counted correctly?
- Also, does anyone know the difference between these 2 bulb options (912 vs 921)?:

2. HID conversion kit. - It seems that most folks use the H4 Bi-Xenon kits...
- Is that the best choice (bulb type/size)?
- I have Amazon Prime and was looking into some of their top-rated kits (by Kensun or ClearView).

3. Dr. Pulley weights - I hate to ask this since I know it has been covered many times, but what is the recommended size Dr. Pulley sliders for a CFMOTO clone (YY250T)?
- I'm thinking I saw many mentions of 12g sliders for this scoot. (I weight from 180-190lbs, depending on the season.)
- I have the worst luck searching for things that I've already read here on the forum.
- If I'm TRYING to find something, it seems to disappear as soon as I start searching.

I have an 1157 LED in my Magnum since the bulb burned out and I like it . The cheap ones with a plastic housing can break in a scooter according to a rep at Cycle Gear who sold me one made of metal and told me they quit selling the plastic ones because of returns . If you go with LED blinkers you will need a new ( dang forgot what the part is called ) but many auto parts stores have them .

The HIDs are brighter but the blueish hue glares my eyes . If you have a 35watt bulb you may be safe to use a 40/45 watt bulb but not a 55 watt as they get hotter and I have read where some have melted the housing and some have drilled holes to allow venting .

There is some 1157 LEDs where the brake light flashes instead of just lighting up .

Unsure of what size and weight your scooter has . Harbor Freight you can get a caliper to measure in mms and a digital scale to weigh them . Mine had 12.2 gram rollers and I went with 12g Dr Pulleys . Takeoff was a tad less , had a better overall acceleration and gained 5 MPH top end . The sliders last longer and do not make the annoying rattle like rollers do . I replaced mine at 5,500 miles and they just started to develop flat spots . Now at 10,300 miles they still perform just like when they were new . If you can afford it I would get them in 2 diff weights . Example is yours has 13g then you can try 12s and then 14s and even mix up 3 12s and 3 14s to equal 13grams . You can mix weights but not types like rollers and sliders together . I can easily out run cars and scooters on takeoff but am planning on going with 11gram and 1k clutch springs to have even more takeoff . My scooter can hit 75 MPH but its so unstable at that speed I try to stay at 60 MPH so a lil less on the top end s worth it to me to have a faster take off and uphill even though I can hit 60 up a hill with a passenger on . There is roller kits with several weights to try but they are intended to be a temporary use as I have read where they do not last as long as others but a great way to test and see what weight will work best for you .

When I put in the rear LED I noticed my headlights were a hair brighter ( I have dual headlights which I love compared to the single on my 150s ) .

Oh its a flasher relay if you go with LED blinkers

Hey skuttadog, would you know anything about going from a 35w H4 bulb to 55w on a 250cc scoot? (I also read where some guys drilled the inside of the housing with good results.)

You are supposed to use the same color bulb as the lens with LEDs.

Yep, I have Super Brights all over my system.

My 1157 is red . Note is this bulb is shared to light up the tag instead of having its own little bulb it may be hard to see the tag at night

I saw an LED someplace that was red on the end and white on the side. I wish I could remember where. I think it was in one of my catalogs. If I find it I will post a link.
