Just thought I should introduce myself, name's Jeremy and I live near Atlanta GA, I have had other scoots before, including a Honda CH250 that I loved and still miss to this day, and a Galaxy 150 with a roof and radio, it was pretty cool but had plenty of issues. I now have a pair of Baja SC50s 06's I'm pretty sure. One will be mine one will be my wife's,...I want to make mine go as fast as possible (I'd be happy to get 45-50mph out of it) while still maintaining decent uphill pull (at least 25-30mph) and I want to make my wife's have plenty of take-off (she's impatient) but I'm not too worried about raising the top end on her's to anything above around 35-40mph... I am also fairly broke so I want to do all the things that don't cost anything or cost very little at first. I have already replaced her spark plug with an iridium one, idled it up a little in an attempt to get a little more take off, and am currently running a little gum-out through it.
Its SO slow!!! The thing pulls hills at around 10-17mph and tops out at around 23-25mph!!! It does have better take off now but it seems like it won't rev high enough when there is any load on it at all, and the throttle seems to have no increased effect once you turn it past the first half of the range,...could this be a floater issue? Tried to get into the top of the carb for a second earlier today but the Phillips groove in top of the screw began to wallow out some so I stopped. Should I remove half the weights in her variator? Anyone ever tried stretching a clutch spring to give it a little more oomph? PLEASE HELP!!!
