so got brand new road warrior today>... got it all setup and running... my prob is that i am a new scooter/motorcycle rider andthe road warrior has 5 gears which seems like its goingto take some serious geting used to. so wen i was starting up and trying to accelerate the bike was violently jerking... and stalling when i was slowing down to stop. now is the reason this was happening because i was in the wrong gear wen starting and stopping? (im guessing i was) is it a normal thing to happen??? was just hoping it wasnt the bike THANX GUYS

By using your foot, push all the gears down, then one by one left each one til you finf nuetral, you have to get use to them anyway.

neutral should be a half click between 1st & 2nd. first should be the all the way down this is assuming it has a regular shift peg. the standard shift pattern form neutral is 1 down and 4 up for a five speed. hope this helps

When you change gears allow the shift lever to return to the middle position before engaging the next gear.

thanx ill post some pics today... theres so many little weird things that throw me off.... the manual shows a stick shift for reverse... since the bike IS 700 lbs... but this bike doesnt have it. so i guess u have to walk it backwards while in nuetral??? im a pretty big gand its not ez.... i guess it jus takes time to get used to a manual bike...

The whole key in working clutch is giving it enough gas as the clutch is being released.

No, (Don't hold brake as you shift into any gear) The only time you hold the brake in as you leave clutch out is when your on a hill, so you don't drift backwards, and stops lights as you start out. If you have a parking lot near by or even your yard, start your road warrior up, hold your clutch in put it in 1st rear, as your letting the clutch out you will start to feel the gear grabing, you should be giving it more gas about the same time, as you release the clutch out all the way, you should be giving as much gas as your releasing the clutch, once you got it moving the other shifting the other gears will become easier.
