Sputtering fix hopefully

Well I have been having the same problem with mine as so many others here. No power on take off, no power when wot, the carb was just starving. I cant find any air/fuel mix screws on my carb, so checked over all the lines, they all seem fine, noticed my fuel filter was constantly empty except for when I hi reved and let go, then the filter would catch up for a sec then be bone dry when I opened up the throttle again or let it idle. Went ahead out of curiosity and took apart my fuel pump. Low and behold cheap metal housing holding a spring and that spring popped out the side. (see attached picture)

So will be ordering a new fuel pump tomorrow and will keep yall posted on if this fixed the issue or not.

Oh by the way, I did reset the spring, bent the metal in a bit to help hold and put the whole thing back together, but the gaskets and plastic inside are so cheap and light that I am sure it is leaking elsewhere now. But it did help a bit and was able to get more hi end throttle than before and was not stahling so bad at take off.
