Yikes, may scooter has been smelling like it was burning its clutch for several days. I couldn't pin it down but decided to take the rear Tupperware off to check. Didn't take too long to find the problem. The connector was burnt to a crisp, just crunchy. I tinned the leads, and crimped them together. Problem solved, but it could have been ugly. The scooter has made it past 23,000 happy miles thus far. Attachments:

*eep!* How did your scoot NOT catch fire!?
...and, what scoot do you drive past 23,000 miles?

I have a JCL MP-250A. It has been a great scooter.
I can only say the good Lord was watching over me. I think the plastic fused so hard that the opposing wires didn't short out. It smelt like a clutch pad slipping (which I have smelt before) but turned out to be quality Chinese plastic.
