Ok I've got a tough one. Got a CF Moto fashion 250 that has an electrical problem I can't figure out. My brother went to crank it one morning...did not start and all of the lights went super dim. Also they stayed on after he removed the key.
My research on here suggests looking for a short somewhere with regulator/rectifier and a blocking diode. The symptoms of his issue seem to match the info I found. I however cannot locate a diode on his bike. Also, outside of a few spider webs, everything looks ok. But I'll probably need to take some readings on a few things I imagine.
ANY info or suggestions from the collective genius is extremely appreciated.

You can start by fully charging the battery. Afterward you'll want to crank the engine again: if it starts then take voltage readings at idle and also 4000RPM If it doesn't start consider replacing your battery.
It's a start.

I did charge the battery already to no avail. Same issues. Wouldn't start, although did hear a noise coming from the starter solenoid. Same thing with the lights and what not though.

Thanks for that link tortoise. That helps tremendously in answering a question or two of mine. Hopefully I'll get more info regarding this problem!

What is the voltage dropping to when attempting to crank the engine with the starter even if it doesn't crank over, have you checked your connections including grounds or attempted to bypass the starter solenoid and run the starter directly off the battery yet? If there is another thread with relevant info I'm not aware of it. Have you pulled the CVT cover off to inspect the belt and verify the engine can be turned by hand. What have you done? Anything?

All visible connections appear solid. I haven't checked voltage yet when attempting to crank. The belt was fine as of a few weeks ago when I changed out his gear oil. The scooter isn't with me so I'll have to get back to you with voltage readings. I'll also unplug the regulator/rectifier and do a before and after like I saw in the link posted above.
