My Scoot has following symptoms: You drive 3/4 to full Throttle for about 3-4 miles and it feels like the scoot dies any minute (stalls) . You let go of the Throttle any it resumes as normal ? Scoot died once I waited 1-2 minutes and cranked right up ? Scoot is cold, cranks right up- you ride- park- get back (10-15 min) and it hesitates to start again? I wired the Fan to be switched with a toggle switch manually which I have on all the time while in operation. Thanks

Am I correct that this is a Linhai 260? If so, I'd bet on a vacuum or fuel problem (bad vacuum fuel pump or electric if yours has it); or a low float level for the carb. Also check for a very tiny hole in a vacuum line feeding the fuel pump (if a vacuum pump)-- usually right at the point of attachment.

I have a new 2008 260 and cannot find the easy way to access carb. No access plate like some models have under the seat.

My 300 had a little access plate inside the seat compartment.

If it is a vacuum leak it would not be sporadic. I drive 10 - 15 miles and all of a sudden the engine acts like it wanted to stall. I slow down and the problem disappears. Is there any info or a service manual that includes the fuel system out there? The scoot (pain- in - the- a..) is a 2007 Jonway MP 250 A. It only has 4500 miles on it. I own 5 MC ; 3 BMW r1100rt r1150r f650st and another pain in the neck a HD Ultra Classic. But this Chinese scoot is by far the worse I ever encountered. Still love the challenge to make it work.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be my intake manifold as pictured here got some liquid tape and wrapped with electric tape, solved that problem, but every now and then it would do just like you said, found out that those intake clamps were coming loose. two good places to look Attachments:

I am a member of several MC Forums. But this Forum is by far the most productive of them all. Thanks everybody for their reply and advise.

Ok this morning I remembered a old trick. Use Starter Spray to detect any leak. I sprayed some starter fluid onto the intake shroud and the damn thing died? ?? Is it the year of the "starving monkey" as the Chinese would say??? Anyway, I will take the carb off and see whats going on. I never ever had a bike behave this way.

My Linhai did the same thing. It would run for 3-4 miles, the sputter and die. Turned out to be a tiny tear in the vacuum line right where it attached to the fuel pump. Raising the float level also gave it a little stronger acceleration.

I sprayed (Starter Fluid) all the Vacuum lines and no change in RPM. But as soon I sprayed the intake manifold the RPM DECREASED and it died?

Examine your intake manifold for cracks or leaks. It may have been the starter fluid was so cold it caused the fuel air mix to slow down.
