Ok so I'm trying to get a stupid zhongyu zy50qt running... This is my issue no spark.. Here's what I'm thinking... Because this model doesn't have a cdi box it's a direct ignition model like a lawn mower... So I have power going into coil and none coming out... Obviously thinking coil bad... I tried to put a coil on from a model with a cdi box and no luck... So a coil on a direct ignition and a cdi ran one are different? Also does anyone know where to find one... Thanks

So are you saying the COIL is a TCI coil which receives 12v when you turn the key to on? It could be the pulse trigger which is supposed to ground the coil to release the voltage to the plug, Just like a scoot with a CDI and the Trigger Pickup. Wile

Ok update ... Cuz its driving me Crazy... When I bought it, it had a white coil similar to every other one I've ever seen.. Has a black with a white chase wire then they had a ground wire running from coil directly to frame... That black with a white chase wire gets hot when you turn the starter over... But if you put a ground to other side of the coil it kills it... If you take ground off it will send power to that ground post but not to plug wire... Did this on 2 different coils... Side note.. There is another coupler with 2 wires from harness one black and one green with red chaser.. Looks similar to a connection you see on a electric choke... Now when you turn key to on the black wire does get hot.. So here's my thing... The carb on it does not have a electric choke.. They could have changed carb.. Or maybe all 3 go to some coil I've never seen before haha... Problem is you can't just google zhongyu coil or carb to see a picture cause there is seriously no information on this stupid thing... I must rely on the knowledge of y'all to help me.... Please!!! Haha

HAHAHA, I know I tried looking for you as well. But to figure this out Find out what the stator looks like and how many wires and color of the wires that will TELL A LOT. Also just turn the KEY TO ON POSTION and see if the Wire On the COIL READS 12Volts If it doesn't then it is a Regular CDI and NOT a TCI CDI and you have different problems. Also Take a picture of the REGULATOR and how many wires and color of wires. Have to know who and what is feeding this unknown beast. Wile

Ok I kid you not there is 4 wires come out of stator and they are black, brown, grey and white.. Haha assuming this stator went to this scooter on other side of coupler.. Black goes to green, white goes to black with white chaser, brown goes to white, gray goes to yellow... I can't upload pics cuz I'm doing this all on my phone haha wish I could... So at ignition there is also a black with white chaser which is wire I believe goes to coil... Ok when turning over engine every wire gets hot but the green which is ground.. I don't have 12volts to black with white chaser when key is on... I do get a hot wire when it turns over.. Side note.. That other coupler has a black wire that is hot when key is on... If that was an electric choke would it be hot when key is on on position? Thanks

Nothing like splitting the ol scoot down in the kitchen haha... It's got 2 pins one on each side almost rectangular shaped and to top it off I dot see anything looks like a pick up coil... This is unlike any system I have ever seen.. As far as engine only thing I see is a dam zhongyu zy50qt on case.. I can tell you it's a older 2 stroke with a vertical cylinder... Anything else I can do to help? I mean all signs show the stator is working properly correct?

If it is an older model...and like a lawnmower as you say...does it have points and a condenser?... Trying to Google that model scoot...so far ...Zilch...just old Geely chain drive scoots. Tell you what ya do....look up MopedArmy...they are local to me and have a group that rides older and odd models. They also have a store that specializes in oddball scoots....older scoots...and newer ones...here...check out there website. www.1977mopeds.com/

Ok. You have been a great help and I truly appreciate it.. One more question though... There is 3 coils on that page.. I know it's not the second one.. The first one looks like 2 others I've tried and third looks Crazy so probably it but these coils have something inside them that tell fire to pulse.. Like there's a Cdi in coil? Thanks so much!!

They showed that STATOR with what every wire did and NOW I LOST the damn thing. But TWO wires were for the COIL, one to give it juice and the other to fire it. Wile

Ignition voltage would come from the smaller wrapped wires. Your regular voltage for charging battery would be the larger wires.
