OK so I have a BMS 260 (old carb style) I don't ride it anymore (too unreliable) I'm in between selling it or renting it at the DMV. Today I need to move it to my new apartment. The battery is toast but I've jumped it with my car no problem. For some reason today it won't start via a jump. At first it cranked and I watched the gas being sucked up to the carb. I let it sit for a minute then cranked again but this time it acted as if it didn't have enough juice. Now it just gives a click! Again like it doesn't have enough juice to even turn the engine. Anybody got any ideas?

Try starting at the starter and heading back. Key on, jumper cables on good battery ==> black to engine ground location, positive right to starter. Should bump on contact. If it "clicks" at this point, starters bad. Old school trick: sometimes it's just the gearing binding, so since you only need it to start one more time, whack it with a rubber mallet while cranking. And by it I mean just smack the metal casing on the outside of it.

If your selling it whats the mileage, tear and bottom line price. What other unreliable problems are you experiencing with it? And where are you?

Max there were too many problems to list. But none of it matters now cause it was STOLEN! Someone decided they wanted it more than I so they tossed it in a truck and took off. So much for disc locks.

Yeah... I hated that bag O crap intensely but now that it's gone I'm kinda sad. I never got to go on any trips with it and considering all the break downs I don't know how I put 6K miles on it.

If you did not have the scooter insured against theft maybe it would be covered under your home owners insurance. It is at lest worth a call to your insurance agent.
