Just thought I should share my recent experience in dealing with Green Earth scooters online.
I was looking for a small displacement (50cc) to buzz around town on and happened upon a local scooter shop. That is the first time I had revelation of the Chinese scooter phenom.
They carried Tao-Tao and Peace machines. So I had an opportunity to check them out. Anyway, that aside, I decided on the Bashan made Peace Renegade 50. The B&M wanted $1300. for it, but somehow I knew I should be shopping around.
First instinct paid off for me. I happened upon Green Earth scooters.com and low and behold they offered my scoot for about $600 less than the B&M's price.
Being mechanically inclined and used to servicing my own vehicles, I decided to order from GES, do the PDI and save a bushel of green backs!
I have to say that from the initial order to contacting GE for a replacement seat, my shopping experience with them has been exceptional! They answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns via phone or email usually the same day! Shipping was fast and without error, my scoot came packed very nicely without so much as a scratch. While the included assembly instructions were comedic at best, what with the broken Chinese to English translation.. Green Earth included a detailed PDF within my receipt email that broke the process down quite nicely.
In summary, I would say that even with some negative press about GES.com, I took a chance and have to say that I am very happy I did. I plan to purchase a 150cc unit from them possibly next year.
