the seat unlocks with the switch key.just turn it counterlockwise untill you hear it click and raise the seet

Raha is right. It works the same as my Majesty. Just turn the key to the left, but DON'T push in. When you push the key in it is to lock the steering.

You may also need to push the seat down slightly as you turn the key to relieve the lock pressure - once it's open give the latches a shot of WD40 - I had the same problem -

I have seen more then one post on here about Aeolus 260-300cc scooters having problems with the seat lock. I to have a 2008 260cc Aeolus and had the same problem. I tried everything to get this eat open and it just wouldnt work. i finally had to take the bolts out of the front seat hinge opened the battery compartment located the cable that worked the seat lock and "CUT" the cable. I striped the cable about 2 inches and used plyers to pull it and the seat popped right open. Now i had a delima i had to figure a way to make the lock work again after i cut the cable. So after thinking about it for a couple hours i thought what if i used a "Cam Lock" ok so i went to the hardware store bought a cam lock that i thought would work and started looking for a location to put it. next i drilled a hole in the right side of the panel just about 4 inches down into the unpainted plastic and a few inches to the right of the vents. Installed the cam lock. i next shorted the cable to the seat lock a few inchs past the cam lock just enough to make a loop in the cable and used a cable crimp to secure it. Then looped it through the flat piece of metal that attaches to the bottom of the cam lock, you will need to drill a small hole in that flat piece to run the cable through and then crimp. it works like a champ and havent had any problems with the seat lock to this day. if you would like to see pictures let me know and if someone would tell me how to download them on here i will do so......good luck.

also : my new 260 AEOLUS with 20 miles will not idle and sometimes backfires when at low speeds . I did adjust idle by turning screw out 3 turns.. I read that a lot of these need carb rebuilds. Best way access carb? I see no access panel in seat bucket like the 300.
