This trike is built by Tao Tao and sold by a US distributor called saferwholesale.com - It appears to be water cooled and 300cc with a spec top speed of about 66 mph which is a bit faster than the icebear 300cc trikes. Does anyone know anything about this company or the quality of the tike? I looked through the newbie stuff and didn't see the Tao Tao name. The missus tried to ride a scooter this past weekend but the weight was much for her plus she is short and had a hard time flat footing with herself planted on the seat. She asked me to look into trikes. We need a 300cc trike minimum due to the speeds it will be ridden. Thanks in advance - wiredgeorge

If this is the trike you are talking about www.saferwholesale.com/300cc-Tiger-Trike-p/300cc%20tiger%20trike.htm It is built by Ice Bear www.rapidrepairpowersports.com/250cc.htmlwww.rapidrepairpowersports.com/magnumimages.htmlAll of Ice Bears trikes are cover by a US patent. The pictures that Safer shows are the old model. They haven't even updated their site to show the new pictures after the mods were done. Unless they are selling last years model. One of there comments really gets me, they say they have been selling this trike for the past 5 years, this model did not go into production until 2010. An Ice bear trike should cruise at 60 to 65 mph and the tiger is the same machine with a different name. I do expect the newly modded Magnums to do better but, will have to wait on customer reviews to find out. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

Jim and all... I found a 150cc Icebear used trike for sale and am going to look at it tonight. I think it might be a good idea to buy a less expensive model for the missus to learn on and a 150cc won't be as likely to see action on the higher speed roads and makes me feel better. If she likes to ride and gets sufficiently proficient and confident, we will step up. After doing some research, I think Jim at the rapidrepair.webs.com is about the best bet; seems PMI and service make the ownership experience vastly different. BTW: I am a very experienced motorcycle mechanic but have a lot to learn regarding scooters so hang on and prepare for a lot of dumb questions.
