I ride a vouge 150cc trike, ive just done the first service, I have done the valve clearances 0.4 0.5 as specified, its now making a hell of a racket. I have tryed 0.3, 0.5, 0.6. before i adjusted them they were set at 0.8ish. any clues? Thanks in advance...

Are you sure its not the rollers rattling ? Running premium gas ? Running lean ?

Are you sure its not the rollers rattling ? Running premium gas ? Running lean ? I think you failed to notice the measurements this poor fella gave for his clearances. ... valve clearances 0.4 0.5 ...making a hell of a racket Recheck your measurements there Original poster. You want Thousands of an inch not tenths. .002-.005. Now that that's been pointed out Is it possible you tried to adjust the lash with the motor one rotation off from where it should be? That's a Honda engine and it requires .002 lash on the intake and .003 on the exhaust. Much tighter than a run of the mill Chinese engine.

Cycle Gear and most auto parts stores have the valve clearance gauges for a few dollars

Yes, two valves, and yes, you gapped them too big. .004 intake and .005 exhaust is perfect.
