Hey guys, Been frequenting the forum for over a year now, I always find the best scoot advice here. Never registered til today, though, because I always found solutions on past threads and I'm not an expert so I never have input to add Now I've got troubles with my 150cc Puma Amstar scoot not starting and I feel like I've run out of things to check from the forums. Here's what's going on: - Electric start cranks fine, but never seems to fire - It's been doing this for a while when I started it cold, but after some coaxing it always started (I'd usually have it die on my first couple stops though, once warm the thing ran and started fine). - Now it won't start. Just cranks and tries to fire but never does. Here's what I've checked: - It has spark and a new spark plug - New carb from previous repair - Checked compression, it's fine - Checked fuel supply and vacuum lines, fuel is getting to the carb fine - Gas tank clean, good gas - Just did an oil change last week (no change in starter issues) - Battery's fully charged - Idle screw's adjusted - Petcock is working fine, good fuel flow - Clean fuel filter So... I'm wondering what I still need to check. It cranks and tries to fire, but in the end nothing. I don't want to keep doing this and wearing down the starter

Try checking the valve clearance

When I do the adjustment what should the clearance be? .05?
I've never done a valve adjustment and I've put 2700 miles on this puppy. Is it something a noob scooter mechanic like myself can do without messing up something?

Any wheres between .003 and .005. and it is time consuming but not too difficult.

That was it! Fired up like a champ. I went .04 mm on the adjustments. Took me all afternoon after I saw The Dark Knight Rises this morning, but it's done.
Thx Derbi

Is there a guide somewhere for doing a valve adjustment? This sounds exactly like my problem!
