I have a 2008 Vroom 250cc. When we bought this scooter, it had 77 miles on it. The owners said that it had been sitting for 2 years because they were scared of it. We are having problems getting it started. It will start for a second and then it dies. If we baby it and try to get it to run around 2000rpm for about 5 min it will usually stay running and once it is running, it runs fine and we can ride it all over but when it sits for a couple hours, its back to not wanting to start again. We have ran Seafoam through it and put the good gas in it but it hasnt helped. Any Ideas?

On something that sat for a few years I would chemically clean the carburetor, but it sounds like once it warms up, it runs fine. I would check the "auto enrichener" and see if the enrichener is operating. if it is, I would disassemble the carb and chemically clean it and spay carb cleaner through all the passages. If the enrichener does not work, replace it.

I agree the only thing wrong is you need a new enricher. I would replace the enricher and just ride it. It sounds like your not knowledgeable on these thing so I would limit the how much I took a part. You should also put some carb cleaner into the fuel tank though. I would recommend you do a full fluid change once you have it running. Being a used bike you have no idea what the prev. ower did or didn't do.

I think it needs a valve adjustment as well as a carburator cleaning...giving you a bump for additional help. Good luck!
