Scooter started leaking oil last weak. Its a 2012 Icebear 300cc scooter. And only has 1,049 miles on it. Looks like oil leak coming from piston cylinder but cant tell if cracked. What you guys think ? First minute and 30 seconds i just showing the piston cylinder. Then I started the scooter up and you will see where the leak is coming from. I notice in middle of piston cylinder they have gray seal, but doesnt go all the away around it. Doesnt it suppose to go all the way around ? CLICK where it says YOU TUBE to make video larger.

Sorry to see that. Looks like a leak from the cylinder gasket area. You can check the torque of the four cylinder nuts. Should be 22Nm or 2.2 m Kg. I think that is about 15 lb ft.
That isn't a lot of torque, so don't go hulk-a-mania on it.
I bet the gasket needs to be replaced and the surfaces of the cylinder / case need smoothing.
Best of luck.

thanks Trigger. All for 4 were tight. If i remove the 4 nuts. Will the piston cylinder come off ?If i lift it up after remove the 4 nuts, will anything fall out ? I figure i can lift it up just enough to squeeze some seal compond on the surface without having to remove the whole piston cylinder.

I agree looks like the cylinder base gasket is leaking.

Thanks Jim, Would it be a problem if i just remove the 4 bolts holding it in place and lift it up about 1/2 inch to 1 inch to use compound seal ? So that I wouldnt have to remove the whole piston cylinder.

Nothing will fall out but cam timing chain will prevent much play. Not sure there is a quick fix.

You might have to take the Cam Tensioner off to give it a little bit of play, but that will only give you less than 1/4 of an inch lift. You may have to take the Head off to lift it up high enough. But before you Do take the Head off, bring it up to TDC and align the CAM as if you were going to time it and put a mark on the CHAIN AND SPROCKET so when you do put it back on you will not be off a tooth. Thanks guys... After reading all what i have to do. I am taking it to scooter shop. Way too advance for me. I did call few scooter shops today. First shop i called wanted $400 to change the lower piston cylinder gasket. Told me would take 6 hours to replace that gasket. Then I called another place. He said would take him 3 hours and total $175 to change lower piston cylinder gasket.

WOW!! 6 hours labor, they are slow or crooks, I personally think the later(HAHA). But if the dealer cannot do anything the $175.00 is very reasonable. If they do a good job, make friends with them they are only charging around 60 bucks an hour. Wile
