I've been an avid motorcycle rider for years and was entertaining the possibility of buying a large scooter for commuting purposes. As I was looking around, I noticed something shocking! There were only a few models of manual transmission scooters on the market. I'm very interested in the Genuine Stella 125cc Manual. But I'd like to be able to take this on the interstate as well.
I know that modern scooter transmissions are reliable, more fuel efficient, have manual shift modes, etc. But I just have a thing for manuals. All of my cars I've ever driven were stick and I'd really like to get a manual scooter. I have numerous motorcycles that are 30+ years old so delving into the vintage market isn't an issue for me at all.
Are there any manual maxi scooters?
(PS I know that you may suggest a search since it's my first post and I'm asking maybe a basic question. Searching for Manual Transmission brought up a bunch of owner's manuals for automatic transmissions. I apologize if I did not use search effectively enough)

Just food for thought: I have a 2T Stella, and while it is no highway machine, it is a generally good time. The fastest manual true scooters that I'm aware of were the Vespa P200's, but really any machine with 10in wheels... well, highway speeds are going to be scary at best.

I recently rode with a guy who had a Burgman 650, and he told me he can "manually shift the gears" like triptonic gears. I thought that scooter was a CVT, but that's what he said and I haven't checked it out.

I appreciate all the help. Unfortunately a shiftable automatic wouldn't really do it for me. I guess there's nothing that meets my criteria, so I'll have to re-evaluate.
fugaziiv, I've seen "up to 60" for the Stella. Is that indicated or actual? (Many of my bikes have 10% optimistic speedos at the 60mph range) Does it get there fast enough to compete with traffic on a 45mph limit road (but traffic does high 50's low 60's)?
E: Oh god. I didn't realize the stella has 10 horsepower. Yikes!
