Kixome, I think you are on to something. Just got to looking at it again today, used my meter on tone, I have ground (tone) from both sides of the coil to the frame. I was thinking I did not have gound when I checked it but instead I have ground to both sides. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think this means I have a short someplace. I am thinking I should have ground to the green side (thats what it is) again correct me if wrong. Thinking I am going to have to unwrap all the wires going toward the key. The 12.32 reading you are getting from the spark-plug to the electrical tab on the coil is probably reading the resistance in thousands of ohms. Look for a "k" to light up on your meter indicating this. So read properly it would be 12,320 Ohms resistance which is still fine. The reading you are getting for your coil-pick up which you report at 2-3 Volts is over the 1/2 volt I asked you to look for. The coil-pickup is sending the trigger signal and that's good. The 61-62 Volt signal you are reporting for the CDI capacitor charge line should be sufficient for getting the CDI capacitor charged. Meter set on V_-_ (squiggly line) 200 I am getting 3-2 reading with ground to batt and frame, nothing to engin. My first readings were 5V when I hit the starter and down to 2 in a split second. I'm bothered by the lack of a reading going from the coil pick-up to the engine as a ground. Are you checking this on a clean bare piece of metal such as the side of the unpainted case or a bolt on the head? Wile alluded to this as a problem in one of his posts and you need to investigate the possibility of a bad ground on your engine. Take your test lead and connect it to the battery negative terminal and the other on the engine. Get a reading for Ohms. You want 1 or less Ohms resistance. If you've done all this then you need to check the CDI box's wiring. This is a GENERIC pin out for a 6 wire CDI. You need to check these pins. Start by checking the labeled grounds and that they are actually grounded(ohms from battery negative to the respective wire using the meter) Next check the Kill switch line on the harness to battery ground. You should get no continuity (open circuit/ infinite ohms) when checking to ground. Check the ignition trigger pulse wire for the greater than .5Volts AC signal when cranking the engine over. Check the AC ignition power for your 50-60Volts AC when cranking the engine over. If all these readings are correct you have an issue with the CDI or a less than typical problem such as an internally shorted spark plug or pushed in pins in a connector. I know you said you replaced the CDI and the stator (did the stator come with a pick-up?) and this problem occurred after wiggling some wires and replacing a damaged connection. The wiggling wires symptom indicates that you need to unplug these electrical connections and look for a pushed in pin loose female connections or bent pin in addition to the other checks suggested.

Thanks a bunch for your descriptive postings!! They are much needed and very understanding. I May need some time to get these questions answered.
The NO READING to the motor was touched on the outside case in two different places and not to a bolt, but the other readings worked grounding to these places.
I have been using the new plug I replaced before it quit and double checking with the old one. But that does not mean that any one of the items is not bad that are new!! Give me a day or two... Thanks again for your knowledge.
