Hey guys, I thought I would jump to this forum for some expert advise since there seems to be a lot of YY250T topics in here. I recently purchased a new Jonway YY250T 250cc Scooter online from a dealership in California named Superior Powersports. I received the scooter here in Pennsylvania about 2 or 3 weeks after purchasing it, and it runs like a champ, so far. The issue is, they sent me the MCO (Certificate of Origin) from China from the manufacturer Zhejiang Jonway Motorcycle Manufacturing Co. LTD. and signed it over to me with my name and address and what not. I took all the information and paperwork I have to AAA to get it registered. They said since it begins with an L in the VIN number that they have to send it to PennDOT to get it approved. So, going on 3 months later I'm still fighting to get it registered. Now PennDOT says the title wasn't on "Secure Paper", which I attached a front view of the paper. There are several security features you will see because its scanned that you don't normally see on it. Has anyone had any luck trying to get this registered in Pennsylvania? Any advice? Attachments:

It was pretty easy for me to turn in my title from China and get it transferred in the State of Missouri.. It appears to be the paperwork I gave to the License Bureau.. Unless Pennsylvania thinks it is a forgery.. I would do some talking with Pennsylvania to find out why they have not sent you a title. The paper that titles are printed on are a certain type and usually aways has the Country or State Seal on it.

Pennsylvania motor vehicle laws regarding registration and inspection are insane. Good luck, it can be done. Just try different registration office. A knowledgeable clerk can make all the difference.

I contacted the place I bought it out of from California and they had the manufacturer re-issue another certificate of origin. They completed it and mailed it to me which arrived today. It's definitely a different type of paper, where you can feel everything embossed. I have a good feeling about this one. I took it down to AAA so they could resubmit it to PennDOT. We shall find out within a few weeks!

I bought a Jonway YY250T / Viva MP250RO in PA, and I didn't have any problem getting a PA title. The original owner brought the title from some Shanghai Motors place. The biggest pain in my ass was that I had to change my California drivers license back to a PA one to title and register the scooter in PA. An unnecessary expense that makes no sense at all to me.

Bought My First Scooter .Spent a lot of time on the Pa Dept of transportation site trying to get info. Found that any Vin with a L had to be checked out. Didn't know what the Vin numbers of the scooter was info not available from dealers Website .This info would be very helpful. When Scooter arrived found out it did have a L on the Vin and I started to get concerned .Went to local Title and Tag Site and the people were very helpful. They tried to put it in but would not allow them to do it. They looked up Vin Numbers and found at least 4 similar Bikes titled They didn't give up were able to input data and send to Harrisburg but said it might come back if so bring it back in.Went through no problems the more they get the better it goes.
GOOD LUCK

Sorry for the late reply, but after I got the replacement title (which was on a different type of paper), I had AAA send it in, and got the plate and PA title and everything 3 weeks later.
