My 8 yr old girl won't ride with me anymore, too embarrasing. Here's my morning routine with my 2007 250 scooter bought brand new two months ago, start it ,wait for it to get to 2000 rpms , gas it, make it 50 yards or less puhhhhhhh, dead. Either wait a minute for it to rest, or crank for a year or until the battery is almost dead starts up vrrooom until a signal is red because i havent timed it right to hit it green. puhhhhhh dead. if it has it's minute rest it starts up again, but if not the cranking thing, honking flipping people off. you get it. have read hours of q's and a's and have changed carb checked this , that did everything all the suggestions ive seen. There is one thing about adjusting the idle screw and mixture screw which is on the bottom of carb just to make it a little harder im guessing, How am I supposed to do any of that when it will not stay running for more than (if cold for about 45 seconds, of hot 3 seconds) it wont idle long enough for me to find the idle screw before it dies let alone try to do the mixture screw. im blind from reading , embarrased to ride it piss neighbors off in mornings trying to start it, i bought one and a month after i got it someone turned left in front of me sending me over the bars and then they took off. total loss got another one , two months into this one im looking for the car to turn again in front of me so i can just wash my hands of them. So any parts from the back of radiator and back ive got, have tried switching carbs , same thing have switched them back same thing. please help cant afford another one.

Find the idle screw(follow the throttle cable to it) then If you can try holding the throttle open a slight bit when starting and hold it where it stays running, then adjust the idle screw in untilled it touches and then you should be able to let go of the throttle and fine tune it.
Oh and if the old scoot was a 250 I might be interested in the engine.... if willing to sell it (I am in Arizona tho, finding what shipping would cost would be the fun part)

I have done that numerous times, but it doesn't matter where I adjust it to it will not idle. I've adjusted the throttle cable itself to where it almost took off by itself even on the upright kickstand. I couldn't hardly get it stopped at a light. LOL im fighting it to stop and it still stalled out. Thanks for responce, still open to suggestions not willing to sell other moter just yet, i've not thrown out the idea of switching out the motors completly. That one only had 800 miles on it. Hell even it was still running laying on its side in the middle of the street with a destroyed front end and smashed radiator.

Do you have the 244cc Honda clone engine ( vertical cylinder) or the 257cc Linhai clone engine (horizontal cylinder)?
