Have ran both of those and they wear good but hard and not a very good ride. I like Avons and so does my arthritis.

yes, kendas wear good and yes they are nylon tires. the best tire would probably be a name brand tire made for motorcycles. be advised that since the rear tire is powered it will wear much faster than the front, at least it does on my bike.

avons ride nice, but are too soft in my book, i can burn a rear up quick.
i also have been known to use pilots.
i think all the 250s do, the rear is heavy and under power i go through at least 2 or 3 rears for each front, just pasting 7000 on my front tire, went thru 2 cheapie stock sundung xingue rears and just swapped on a pilot in the rear.
over 6000 miles on one set of kendas on a ridden hard 150, front is like new, the rear maybe 40 percent worn,

most pirelli's are soft, how many miles on your kenda? rears only last about 4- 5000 miles, i dont care if it only lasted you 4 months if you went 5000 miles on it. i can put a rear on 3 times a year, and do 10000-14000 miles i go a tad over 1000 miles a month thats why they only 30 to 40 bucks apiece
. and in two more years the engine will be worn to bits and i will replace that with my spare.

I like Pirellis, they are a very good but soft tire. Very smooth riding, high traction, decent tire wet or dry weather, but the trade off is they do wear faster than most. I hear Michelin's are good and wear much longer.

My bike has about 4000 miles on it right now.. at about 3400 miles I replaced the factory installed rear nylon tire with a Pilot SC.. Got it on ebay shipped for around $55.
The old tire was so worn and out of round after only 3400 miles it was SCARY. I am a fan of Pirelli, from my big bike days, but didn't want to drop $100 on a new soft Pirelli that I may have to replace due to faster wear on these higher rotation smaller diameter wheels.
So far, the Pilot is just awesome, great ride, great road contact. I have a front tire Pilot replacement on order. Those nylon originals wear so oddly at the tread lines.. If I ever get another Chinese scoot, the first thing after PDI I will be doing is getting rid of those cheap-o shong-dong-bing-bong nylons. they are not worth the air inside them.
Edit:
Oh, and yes, I have a '08 Roketa MC54B. I most definitely recommend the Pilot SC!

i've got a bms 260 2008 with a little over 12k miles on it The front tire has never been replaced and still looks good The rear tire is another thing. I had to replace it due to a road bump I hit too hard which also bent the aluminum wheel. The rear tire had over 8K miles on it and it still looked good. Both front and rear tires were nylon tires from china on the bike originally. I replaced the rear with an Avon and got under 3K miles before it was worn out, never buy another one of those. I just ordered a KenK413 from BikBandit had some good feedback on it and the price was good. Max

howdy, have used perelli on most replacement tire situations and thought they do well. i don't understand why everyone seems to use tires up so fast. the kymco had over 8,000 when i sold it and the tires were not apparently worn. my piaggio has 8300 on it and no noticeable wear and i'm a 300 pounder and drive the speed limit on the freeway. i use as much front brake as possible to even out the wear though the piaggio is interlocked so automatically applies one of the front discs and i use the other front disc to help out for stopping. lotsa miles and smiles to ya

Yes,it matters. The wheel must be made for tubeless tires. Thanks. I checked and the wheel has Tubeless written on it, but the tires installed are Tube Type shinko SR550 with white wall. I suppose this means it can take tubeless but they installed tube type? By the way, this thread inspired me to check my tires and they failed the penny test, the treads are flush with the little rubber marker between the treads. I guess that means I am due for new tires. I like white wall look what do you guys recommend for brand and should I go for Tubeless instead of Tube Type? Tire size is 3.5-10. Also, I seem to be burning tires quite fast, these came with the scooter and I only have ~1370 Miles on it, and both front and rear failed the penny test! Am I riding it too hard, I am less than 200lb. Thanks!!

Got my Michelin put on this week by a local motorcycle shop - I gave him the wheel and he put it on, including installing my new kurvey girl valve, for a mere $15. I think that was a good investment based on what I've read. he said it took him 40 minutes to get it seat! Reason I'm posting - wow, what a difference a Michelin makes!!! Highly recommended.
