Hey Folks,
Just wondering, I've special ordered scooters from BMS Motor Sports for a few customers. They are very nice scooters. Sometimes I only need to order just one. I know the shipping on one unit is always going to be a lot more expensive than ordering 3, 6 or more. My question is that I order from other distributors in the same area sometimes and I only pay around $130 for one piece. BMS wants $240-$280 plus $18 for their special pallet for one unit.
I asked them about this and got no answer. Usually they answer all other questions. Just wondering am I being taken advantage of? With the cost of their shipping, I may just stop ordering from these guys. Maybe I am missing something.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Could be. Kinda like me i ordered some parts from a website based in the USA and the package was very small weighed only 3lb and could have fit in a USPS Medium Flat Rate Box which cost $10.85 to ship. They charged me $60.00 for shipping. I was pissed. but yea maby you can call up the shipping service they use and say you want a quote and give them the dimensions, weight ect... and see what they say it cost to ship that item from start to finish.

It all depends on where the scooter is being shipped to. When we ship to the east coast we usually can get one shipped for about 150-200 but if we have to ship a scoot to CA or WA state then it could run 300-400 to ship just one. Granted we do not get as much of a discount as BMS does since they are a much larger outfit but our parts prices are much better than theirs are also.

Hey, thanks for the comments. Don't want to come across as being cheap but it did kinda cross my mind. I guess shipping just varies, Wow!!
On another note, I have as many female shoppers as male shoppers these days. Think PINK guys!! Any companies out their target the female market? Pink scooters use to be so hard to get rid of. Now I can't keep them on my floor for very long.
Hey, have you guys ever thought of a section just for dealers? Just a thought.
Thanks!

Pink is our most notorious color! Our very first scooter sold was Pinky, and we always have a few pink scooters around. Bubblegum pink retro scooters are VERY popular!

I'm a dealer in Iowa and I found the same thing with BMS. I quit ordering from them this season and order from Puma. Puma as good customer service. I could never get a hold of anyone at BMS.

I hear good things about Puma as well. A while back they approached us and explained they offer 1 and 2 year warranties from the manufacturer and are apparantly much more consistant with supplying parts/service then some of the other names. We didn't place any orders (due to our own plans ) but let me know your dealings with them. As far as the scooters themselves I never did see one personally nor do I have any experience with the product. Can't remember his name but the Puma rep was very professional.

Puma seems to have nice products. I filled out an dealer application with them. They have a dealership in my area already so I might be out of luck but the rep seemed to be very nice. :-)

Greg You know that 'sand' pink desert color that was tried on aircraft in desert areas during WWII? Kinda wish that particular color was available.
