I think you misunderstood what I was replying to. You made the statement that there rating wasn't influenced by money and you are correct in saying non-members aren't. But if you are a member and I know those who are that can tell you that money they give them can influence their rating system, it's the way a lot of things in this world work. But I'll still ask the question, how much stock do you have in a system that only knows a address and location of a company and yet rates them at any level? What if they had gave you a "F"? I'm sure you would have something to say about that especially if someone used it on a open forum against you? Read the link I provided. They have more info than just the name and address of the company they are rating.

Here are some of the things that stand out in the wonderful rating world of the BBB: BBB letter grades represent the BBB's opinion of the business. The BBB grade is based on BBB file information about the business. In some cases, a business' grade may be lowered if the BBB does not have sufficient information about the business despite BBB requests for that information from the business. So if they don't know anything about you at all and you just ignore them because they ask even though you are not a member they can lower your rating. Does that hardly seem fair? Lower a person's rating just because "they" have no information? If I was not a member and didn't want to provide infromation, just didn't want to be bothered by them I dang sure wouldn't appreciate them giving me any kind of rating. A business' BBB grade is based in part on the length of time the business has been operating. Time in business is most frequently determined from information provided by the business; while BBB expects businesses to provide accurate informationSo if they know nothing about me and I haven't been in business long my rating that I'm getting even though I'm not a member is effected by the time I'm in business and they just ecpect me to or any other business to be honest about the information? But here's the one thing that all need to remember; BBB letter grades represent the BBB's opinion of the business. We all know what opinions are like.
