It could be that the float is stuck. To get to it, find the lock ring on the top of the gas tank. Rotate it counterclockwise and take the float out. You can then move the float arm, with the key on, and see if it has any effect on the gauge needle. Some times the float is just stuck. Some times the float is saturated with gas and won't "float". Some times is is just a pinched or disconnected wire. If moving the float makes the needle move, the rod the float is on can some times be bent to compensate.

Hmm, bummer! Maybe the tank has to be removed first? Really not familiar with that specific model scoot.

Check the wire connections to make sure they are solid and clean. Something like Mystery oil in your gas may loosen the float so it works. Techron also claims to clean floats.

I had the same problem with my Linhai 300. I did finally get to the sender, and yes, it has the steel beam over it. I had to unbolt the tank to slide the tank to the rear a bit in order to remove the sending unit. Had I known it was going to be such a bitch of a job I would NOT have fixed it! When I first got the scoot I dumped a quart of gas in and made a mark on a wooden stick indicating each additional quart I added and that was my gas gage for a long time. I will say it is as accurate as you will ever get. Now, the problem with the sender was a to tight swivel point where the float wire swivels in the sender itself. Before I took it apart I tried MMO, two cycle oil, moving the the float up and down with a bent coat hanger and whatever I thought would loosen it up, well it only seemed to get tighter. I finally decided to take it apart and fix it. You will have to remove the sender from the tank to loosen up the PUSH on retainer clip at the swivel point of the float wire so it moves up and down freely. You will have to pry it out a bit, like with a knife blade, Just don't get it overly loose, just so it swivels freely. It's one heck of a lot of work to get at a bloody little clip the factory put on to tight.

thanks for the info ronlee so there is enough room to just slide it back a bit without having to totally take it completely out man that would save some time i appreciate that info gonna start working on it tomorrow

okay got take moved around enough to get to sending unit and on that sending the retainer clip that keeps the arm from falling off was so damn tight i could hardly move it myself i pryed it loose with a razor blade knife enough that the floater arm would bounce up and down by itself so now i should have a very accurate gas guage i appreciate the info .just have a word of advice to anyone else ..be patient lol

I'm not sure where, (and I have to leave for work right now) but I've seen this issue dealt with in past years in previous posts. If I get time tonight I'll do some more research, but I'm pretty sure it's here somewhere on this forum.

I am happy to hear my suggestions on the Linhai 300 fuel gage sticking problem has helped fix the problem some have had. It always feels great to help a fellow rider. I must say I have really enjoyed my machine. I don't have a lot of experience with scooters but must say I am impressed with mine. It is quiet and goes like the wind. I love it.

I have no idea if your machine is really overheating or not. If it doesn't boil over and spit out coolant it may be fine. When mine was new it seemed to go up high and back down a lot which was a concern to me. I pulled the cooling hose off the bottom of the scoot to drain the system and the water came out absolutely black. The nipple the hose goes on was 1/2 corroded up inside. I filled with plain water several times until it came out nearly clear. I then ran water with auto radiator cleaner for the prescribed time it called for. I drained and filled several times until I felt it was as clean as it could get. I filled with 50/50 anti-freeze and all is fine. It was lots of work, but after finding the black coolant I felt it had to be done.
