I tried to search the forum, but because CVT is only three characters the search results were always incomplete.
Lately, when I would pull away from a stop, my CVT seems rather noisy. Not sure how to describe it, but "squeaky" "chattery" are proabably the best adjectives I can think of. A few times there was some additional vibration, but that doesn't happen often, just the noisiness does. It only does it for about 20 feet or so, when I pull away from a stop, then everything sounds fine.
Any thoughts on what's going on and can it be fixed or is it just the nature of the beast?
I await you're input.
Thanks.

They will start to rattle when they are a little worn, depending on the miles and if you noitce any loss of top end you may want to check them out. Maybe the guides are worn which if they break cause problems. Wile

Ya, my 250cc scooter has 5500 miles on it and I notice a tad loss in top end.. It will be fine for this year, but been thinking of ordering a new belt, new clutch and roller wieghts. It is still quiet but top end has slowed up some. It is general wear and tear. We all get it and to keep our scooters performing good, well we should do the maintenance. lol

On my 260 I heard noises etc and had variable problems with start out - I opened it up and found the fan face pulley was loose on the crankshaft and the splines on the aluminu were wore off. The belt was fine. I replaced the fan face pulley and the Variator after modifying the crank splines a bit with a diamond file so the new fan pulley would slip on the crack splines. Runs great Max

Clutch pads might be glazed and slipping a little at start up. If so some light sanding will rough them up enough to grab smoothly again.

Runs great Max This is where I'd start. Pull off the cover and have a look see. Make sure the two nuts are tights, check the left side drive face splines for wear. If the nut is loose the drive face will get closer to the inside of the cover and can cause the sounds you're hearing. The variator nut 22mm, I think. And since you're in that neighborhood anyway, slide the whole left side off and check the rollers for flat spots and debris. Just in case. Keep us posted!

Just incase you didn't, you might also want to try the google search of the forum at the bottom. When I type cvt into that it does come back with results.

Both the variator and the clutch need to be serviced occasionally. There are u-tube videos that help to get you familiar with the parts. The clutch has parts that need to have grease applied although you don't have much mileage on your bike, which makes this alittle odd. Mine started making additional noise and then started "eating" belts at the rate of one every 100 miles. Not cool by any means. Hope you get things worked out. Chris

Here is one that shows taking off both Variator and Clutch and putting them back on a 250 motor. Wile
