What size vacuum lines are used on 150cc scooter? (There are couple different ones) And what is the good place to buy them on-line? I checked all autto parts stores in my town - they don't have it

NAPA auto parts has Gates hoses made just for gas and vacuum lines. IIRC, I bought 3/16" (hole diameter). Just put a little spit on the stubborn fittings and the hose will slide right on. And don't forget to use good clamps. I use the "worm" style clamps.

Anything that will fit the connectors & not collapse will work for a vacuum line. There's little-to-no air flow through them.

I figuered out today that 7/32" vacuum line and 3/8" corbina clamps works perfect!!!

No, for gas line I used a line with little bigger inside diameter. I don't know exact size - used some line from friends garage.

Don't forget that regular vacuum lines are NOT designed for fuel transfer. Make sure you get the proper fuel rated hoses for that purpose. Regular vacuum lines will melt if subjected to gasoline and or oil. Alternatively, there's nothing wrong with using fuel rated lines for normal vacuum operation. In fact, they're a lot stronger than regular rubber hoses but sizing may be an issue. I also suggest to use what is called fuel injector hose clamps since they're stronger and don't loosen up as easily. While you're at it, replace all the vacuum tee's too. Jeff

I plan to convert my rubber hosings to hard steel lines when my new pump gets here. I'll use little hose bits for fittings off the tank, to the pump, and onto the carb,

Steel isn't always the better answer. It absorbs and conducts heat MUCH better than rubber and might contribute to vapor lock. Also, be certain you allow a long enough piece of rubber hose in places where flex is important, such as from the frame to the carb. Nothing wrong with good quality rubber hose. You are probably already aware of these issues but thought I might mention them in case you aren't.

i'd like some opinions on the removal of the vacuum and or charcoal canister on this scooter. its seems to just get in the way and i'd like to remove it and plug up the parts where the hoses connect, can this be done w/o creating any adverse affects to performance or the overall reliability of the motor.
my thread entitled GY6 emissions has a clearer description of what I'm talking about

i just changed my hoses, use 5/32 gates for the vacuum and go to a motorcycle dealership for the fuel line, you wont find the proper size in a auto parts store. 1/4" is way too big for the fuel line.

PS: 5/32 worked on mine but its always best to match whats already on there with whatever you're buying since sizes can and may vary on different scooters
