Spread the word, EVERYONE on a scoot should have on protective gear.

definitely. my dad is a huge bmw rider and a has instilled safety gear into my head since a young age. even on my little scooter i always wear my helmet, gloves, jeans or cargos, leather boots or leather shoes, and a aerostitch jacket which i love. during the winter months i have a very heavy duty aerostitch that i wear. i can probably crash doing 80+ and if i were to just slide, wouldn't be scratched. but i only wear that during colder weather since it is so heavy
my helmet and gloves have saved me twice. if nothing else my hands would be shredded from the pavement, and when my head hit my windshield on my scooter, i'm glad i had a full face helmet. this all happened one morning when the roads were wet and slick, the light was green and the car ahead of my suddenly stops causing me to hit my breaks to hard and lay down.. needless to say i called in to work, pushed my scooter off the road, locked it up, lite a pipe, and walked home and counted my blessing.
safety gear should not be skimped on, i hate when i see people riding with sandals and shorts, all it takes is one spill to lose a foot.
on the topic, about 6months ago i was riding with my dad in his jeep and we passed a crashed scooter. the cop directing traffic was a friend of my fathers so we pull over and ask what happened... apparently this guy was leaving a gas station with some groceries... the plastic bag somehow became caught in his wheel causing him to flip and his head hit the curb.
even going 10-15, 20-30mph a crash can still cause lose of limbs or death .. riders take caution

Hank,
I really like your new scooter. It looks a little like my Super 8. That armored jacket is nice as well but WOW it is rather pricey!

Hello Hank. Love the jacket and of course love the scoot.
I have been watching for a "report" on your new scoot now that you have had it awile and have it broken it. I love it and suspect it is a real joy but I want to hear all you have to say whenever it strikes you to do so. Before you modify it.
Cheers
Lefty2
