As if it hasn't been said enough in these forums, DO NOT ORDER FROM these guy(s).
1) I placed an order on Feb 12th (credit card charged)
2) Feb 13th I got an email saying my order would ship in 2-3 days
3) Feb 16th I sent an email asking if my order has been shipped (no response)
4) Feb 17 I sent another email asking the status of my order. (again no response)
5) Feb 20 I asked to cancel my order because I was moving. (again no response)
6) Feb 22 I sent another email saying "I guess since you are refusing to respond to both my emails and phone calls, I will be disputing my credit card charges. I will make sure I post all of this on the scootdawg forum as well."
7) Feb 24 Michael finally responses with:
You got a canceled email days ago (2012 Feb 20 11:47: Marked Cancelled ) since I can not ship on holidays which was your demand and it takes 5-7 business day's to receive this product. Your delivery was set for 2-22 which is 7 business days. I pulled product monday so it would not deliver since I can not ship on Holidays. You are in VA it shipping from MD to arrive on Feb 22
Your were emailed and never called
Its takes 3-10 business days for refund which you canceled Monday which would batch on Tuesday and disputed charge on Wed Since I have records of all this I have no choice but to tell your bank this info to get my funds back. Which is consider fraud
Please do not shop with me again.
BTW, telling me I am refusing to do something is silly, I have shipped 100s products so far this month, sorry I could not hold your hand
And my response: 1) I never got an email stating you cancelled anything. (forward this to me if you have it)
2) If you would communicate with your customers maybe none of this would of taken place.
3) I've called you more than I've emailed. (at least 20 times to all your numbers you have listed on your website)
4) If you want to run a business you need to learn customer service and communicate with your customers.
5) You should not charge customers credit cards anything until you are ready ship
6) I have know idea what you are talking about me committing fraud.
7) I paid for Fedex which was open Monday (Holiday)
8) communicate, communicate, communicate.
9) I really don't think I need you to tell me not to shop in your store any longer. Like most everyone else that has done business with you, you don't need to worry.

I placed an order on March 11th. I received part of it in 2 weeks but am still waiting on the final part. I have called and gotten through twice and both times they were rude. I will never use them again. Terrible customer service.

They also seem ridiculously overpriced compared to the ethical and honest regulars who give advice on this board. I would rather give them my business.

I've known Mike since I was about 15, I worked for him and tried to help him with Scootertronics and I witnessed how he yells at customers telling them they have no clue what they are talking about and have also apologized to those customers in an attempt to help save that customer and what had become my reputation since I was a part of the whole mess. I tried and tried, But in the end I had to walk away from it and let it be. I can't say anymore and really don't have to because Scootertronics and Mike will do themselves/himself in! I can tell you that you can find every part you would want, or need from www.racingplanetusa.com I trust these guys more than I do some guy that I have known for most of my life. I buy my parts from Racing Planet and I recommend them (And very few others), I found Racing Planet while searching to help Mike make Scootertronics a better place, He started buying parts from Racing Planet and reselling them to his customers. But he's Mike and you can guess how all of that went. I don't work for anyone, especially not Mike, If I talk to anyone about scooters, I recommend Racing Planet because they have more parts for more scooters than anyone else! Racing Planet works on the weekdays and races on the weekends, it's what they do! We live on a Racing Planet..... lets race!

*** HEADS-UP EVERYONE *** Another Scootertronics victim here. Two weeks ago I called and spoke with Mike directly. He said that he had all of the parts in stock although they would come in two shipments because he had to ship some parts from his NEW FLA store. So I felt comfortable ordering. Ordered parts on Monday and was e-mailed a confirmation notice of a 24 hour turnaround as promised. My account was debited the next day. On Thursday I tried to call but all of the phones had been disconnected!!! So on Saturday I actually drove to the store in Thurmont Maryland and guess what? According to his business partner and head mechanic "Tommy Thunder", Mike doesn't work there anymore! The shop is supposedly called "Catoctin Mountain Scooter Shop" now. I spoke with Tommy Thunder at the shop and he seemed like he wasn't telling the truth. HIS WIFE RUNS THE SHIPPING FOR SCOOTERTRONICS. As of 5/4/12 Her e-mail address was still active: *** marymchaffee@yahoo.com *** Anyway, I finally did get some of the parts on Tuesday, but I'm still missing the instruction CD for a 80cc BBK, #90 main jet, air filter and Ninja 7 gram slider weights from my order. After several attempts, to this day I cannot reach them via voice or e-mail and I have not received the missing parts.
See you this week Tommy and Mike ;-)

Well fellas, it looks like Mike finally did come through. I just got my air filter, rollers and jet today. (I live in the same state.) It's a #95 jet, oh well. That took two weeks to get although it was promised much earlier. Still no install CD for the big bore kit, but thanks to the internet I was able to get most of the answers I needed.
I should have done my research first!

Man I wish these guys were more on the ball. They seem like they are trying but I got an incorrect sized main jet. It's much smaller than what's on there now and the new one it says it's a #95. I was suppose to get an #88 in the kit. The Air filter is the right size as are the rollers.
On the good side, I did call Mary directly yesterday and today I got a response from her about the order. She was nice and offered help at anytime through Tommy at the Thunder shop, AKA Catoctin Mountain Scooter Shop.

The jets Mike sells are speculative and he doesn't know what jet you actually need. Mike has never done a plug chop and doesn't even know what that means! Tommy is the owner operator of Catoctin Mtn Scooter. Mike bailed and went to Florida. I doubt Mary has anything to do with Mike, or Scootertronics. She used to work there in Thurmont with her husband (Tommy). Tommy doesn't work for Mike, or Scootertronics. They are now two totally different companies, Mike runs his shady business from his car, hotel, or where ever he is now.
As far as I know, Tommy has nothing to do with Michael Milstead!
Tommy is a great guy and works hard to take care of his customers, While trying to deal with all the customers that Mike has shafted. Who come to Thurmont and Catoctin Mtn Scooters looking for answers!

Poor Tommy, He keeps getting the short end of the stick, Customers come to "his shop" (cactotin mtn scooter)looking for answers to Mikes problems and he tries to help them best he can. Mike does what he does, He will never change! Tommy doesn't work with, or for Mike. Tommy runs his own business and he basically had to delete Mike from his life because of how Mike does business!
Mike sells this so called package deal where you get everything together, filter, jets, etc. Mike has no clue what jets are really needed, He has never done a plug chop to determine if the jets he uses are the right ones. Mike prays that the customer will never know the difference. I was a motorcycle mechanic and spent some time as Crew Chief for a privateer Ama Pro Super Bike road racing team. We did plug chops, We tested different settings on a professional road racing machine. It was far from bullsh!t, But Mike thinks his experience selling scooters and scooter parts qualifies him to say that my knowledge of motorcycles has absolutely nothing to do with scooters, He argued It's a scooter, NOT a motorcycle. I don't know how many times I said... Mike, it's a motorcycle engine with a snowmobile transmission.... WHAT?
I brought a friend around to the shop to help out. Of course anything that has something to do with Mike Milstead it backfired and my friend walked away from that shop like I did. He was a professional motorcycle racer and rode circles around Mike at the track, But Tommy always gave him a good race! So for a while it was great fun, But again when you factor in Mike Milstead to any situation...... it blows up in yo face!~

A plug chop is basically you ride it, under a load ride it as fast as it will go and turn off the switch, Then you remove the spark plug, If it's black you're getting too much gas into the cylinder, is its white too little fuel, You want a sort of gross grey, almost the same color as you would get when oil mixes with water in your automobile. Kitty litter grey! This will vary depending on altitude and weather conditions regionally in higher elevations where the air is think you need a smaller jet than you would at sea level!
Any further questions can be answered by searching on the internet for a "plug chop".

Nice to see I'm not the only one to get burned by Scootertronics. (sort like being a rape victim) I should have checked them out first here.
