Hello!
My name is Barb and I'm from Lethbridge Alberta. I'm new to the forum but not new to scooters. I got my first '85 Honda Spree when I turned 14 and upgraded to a 1988 150cc Honda Elite. Eventually I upgraded to a bike Silverwing. I sold it when I moved to Japan and went over a decade without.
I found a really cheap 2007 Volano in the next town over and I fell in love with riding all over again. I drove it for a couple years without any problems what-so-ever but it got hit by a truck while parked in front of my house in September.
Figuring I'd used up all my luck on the problem-free Volano I put down money on a new 2009 GTS 250cc Vespa ie and cannot wait to take possession of my new baby in April.
I looked around but couldn't find a scooter club locally. I've been poking around on the boards for a couple weeks and I really wanted to become a part of a community around a shared love.

Hi! I was only in Japan a couple years after university. I moved back home to Edmonton and now I live in Lethbridge Alberta where we put down roots. It's a great town to live in because every secondary highway road leads to a different kind of Alberta. There's the badlands to the North, mountains to the West, Prairie land to the East and America to the South.

Later we will be glad to get rid of a little. lol Cheers lefty2 For the first winter ever, we really don't need it! Almost every single day this winter has been warmer than freezing and it's hardly snowed at all. From last year where it was -40 to -30 almost constantly since October, it hardly feels later than October. We'll still get our March blizzard and our April blizzard, I have no doubt, but winter's been pretty good. So good that the roads look open and clear and ready to ride already.

Welcome! I bet you havn't been this anxious for something to arrive in awhile. Good luck and ride safe. Always. The indoctrination began almost 21 years ago that if a car *can* enter your path you must always always assume *it will*. I crashed about at first trying to see if WOT would get me around S turns and I learned the "no" answer the hard way. At least I practically bounced off the pavement and then back up again as most teenagers do. The road rash scars can be hidden with elbow length shirts.

If some jerk hadn't hit my scooter in the fall I could have ridden for most of last month.

The way my shoulder aches in this damp weather makes me feel like an old'un. In my youth I thought I could take an S-curve full throttle. Turned out I couldn't. But any crash you can walk away from is a good crash.
